Servo Installation
Hello Everyone and Happy New Year, Need a little help , Im in the process of deciding where to mount my servos in my balsa usa 1/4 cub and how to mount them ... As stupid as this may sound that last few planes I built always had either trays or outlays for reference.. Any help or ideas are always appreciated.. Thanks Carl

RE: Servo Installation
Just install two 3/8" x 3/8" hardwood blocks across the width of the servo compartment. Put two servos between them (One on each side) to get the distance between them right.
Space them relatively evenly or let the pushrod decide the placement for you |
RE: Servo Installation
You can use some basswood 1/4 by 1/4 square sticks. glue a piece to the sides of the fuselage as a support and then glue the cross pieces in with the proper spacing for your servo's. Hope this helps, Dave

RE: Servo Installation
I too use the 3/8 or sometimes I make up a servo tray. One thing I do on all my planes, well, the ones that come out without a CG problem, is to assemble the plane as complete as I can then set it on the CG machine and set the servos and gear on the plane with some tape. I try to get the CG close before I hard mount anything. I do this with the plane in the bones. Then I take it apart and cover it. When it's finished the CG is easy to set. Just a little something I do and a trick I haven't mentioned in a while.
