AMR MONSTER STICK

1 Attachment(s)
The idea of a monster stick was inspire by the Moki 150cc radial who can be bought from TroyBuiltModels, one of our giant scale kit suppliers, who offer a wide range of engines and accessories.

Specs; 144" wingspan, fuselage lenght 120" , 8" wheels, soon a 3" tailwheel manufacture by Aircraft Modelers Research. The Waco 33% cowling and wheels pants can be adapt to this laser cut Monster Stick kit. Stabilisator will be plug-in with aluminum tube like the wings, from TNT gears. Landing gear is 5/16" 6061-T6 aluminum.

Flaps will be part of the design .

Now time to start the building pictures.

Michel you have some very innovative ideas in the way you design your models. I love the way you have laser cut the inner layer of the fin and rudder for hingepoints. Guaranteed to line up perfect with no fooling around trying to drill all the holes correctly. Also the way every part locks into other parts and components it would be pretty tough to build one out of line. Very well designed indeed. [sm=thumbup.gif]

Michel, that's called thinking outside the box. It should be a lot of fun to fly.

Hi guys,

I am designing the plug-in stabs on Monday. These are built over a supplied jig (same as wing panels) They are what you could call "mini-wings" with an airfoil shape to hide the elevator servos and to give them overal strenght (49'' wide/total stab)

Michel will post pictures this week.

Dany,

Michel what size is the strut, 3/16"? I love the way you guys think. Go big or not at all!!!

Hey Michael, thanks for the email with your Monster details. I'll track you progress via this thread. You thinking having this kitted by June time frame? Thanks, Jerry.

AWESOME! I love sticks and this one is incredible! Beautiful work and I love the choice in power plant. PLEASE be sure to post a flight video! I would love to do this project if only I could afford the engine. Why has no one built a full scale stick yet?

AMR is in Quebec, the province of significant Canadian aviation manufacturing, so who knows they may already be secretly planning a super size unit powered by a certain 400 cc radial, now all we have to do is get the loot together to acquire the engine, the Sieko 1800 in lbs servos and the most important thing of all Wifey':eek:s permissions for the project!
