Does Flat Monocote split easier than gloss?!!!

I've got two planes covered in flat cream monocote. Each one was covered about a year apart and the covering was purchased at different times when working on the planes. One is a scratch built Pitts Special and the other is my Kadet SR. I've noticed the covering cracking at wierd places. a lot of it was on the underside of the horizontal stab but in a place where typically grass or weeds wouldn't poke through it. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had any experience with flat covering having a tendancy to split or crack easier than gloss?

I don't know about the flat colors but I had a model covered with a fluorescent color and it was very brittle compared to the gloss colors.

Might be something with the way they are made. It seems to me that the flat color splits easier, brittle, that would be a good way to describe it. Anyone else?
