Can you identify this airplane?

Hey guys,

I acquired this plane in a group purchase. Can anyone tell me what it is? It's 3 channel - no ailerons. Kit built. The wing span is 56 inches.

Thanks!

Patrick

P. Winters, I remember the original Swizzle Stick as being a bit larger than 56," but then it's been a few years. Yours may not be a Swizzzle Stick, but a Balsa USA version of a year or so later. Either one, they both flew like Buzzards on the prowl, slow and steady. A guy in our group bought one after crashing a Scale fiberglass Cessna he bought to learn on. I taught both him and his Brother-In-Law to fly with his Stick. Then Balsa USA came out with their version (don't remember the name of it!) My new Son-In-Law wanted to learn to fly RC so I got him a Balsa USA Stick kit for Christmas, helped him put it together and taught him to fly it. The following year they moved North and couldn't take it along, so I kept it, recovered the wings, added Droop Tips, and have been flying it off and on ever since. The new tips made it even more stable. It will not spin, but flies along nice and level all day! Mine has 4 Ch. and a bit heavy, but that wing offers plenty of lift. Hope you plan to fly it, you'll like it. Oh yeah, this coming Christmas mine will be 20 years old! Grampaw

Thanks so much for your reply. A few minute ago, someone replied that this is a Balsa USA Stick 40, the replacement for the Swizzle Stick. I hope to fly it soon!

Thanks much!

I still have a Balsa USA Stick that I made from the plans, the first one did not like going though highlines. So one winter day I went out to the shed and got an old door and part of a pallet and made a new one. Lots of time on this airplane!
