ok,    some questions for you,   How big a ws?    electric powered or not?  do you want thermal/ soaring?  hotliner?  DLG?  slope soaring?  There are many types out there to chose from,  you really need to work out which area of glider guiding you want to work.

RE: glider help

Didn't specify whether you wanted ARF or kit but here's a starting point . . .

ARFs you can get as low as $50 http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXLGM5&P=0
And as high as $150 http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXELP0&P=0
or even more depending on what you want.

Kits you can get as low as $33 http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXM399&P=0
And as high as $70 http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXNH96&P=0
or even more, again depending on what you are looking for

Plus you will need a hi-start for another $60 http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXE635&P=7
Or upstart for $28 http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXE637&P=7

Wingspans up to 72" need at least 300 feet of flying space while 2meter sailplanes need 800 feet of flying space

Gliders have a LOT to teach you - and you will be a better 'nitro' pilot if you have some glider experience.

Yes...Ilove gliders and t hey will make you a better pilot for sure! Thermal soaring can be some of the most rewarding flying that there is-and Ihave done it all. Specking a glider and then completing an hour+ flight is awesome! Search in the glider/soaring threads here for lots of info before you select anything. Good luck.

Crash my Cularis a few time. Ripped nose off, broke all wing servo, lost rudder in flight. Dog lunch, But she a hard bird to kill. Watch my video on DOG CHASE CULARIS and CRASH CULARIS . What is under the hood, 900K motor, 40amp ESC, All medal gear servos ( replacement of the one I broke HS55 AND HS81), 10BEC, one Gyro for the roll, just to smooth thing out. All from Hobby City for under 100 USA dollars not including cularis, Battery 2100, 20C from hobby city 18$, OH and lots of white Duct tape. Those strip on the wing and tail are not paint, they are color duct tape.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YRoD40fs1zw Warning this Video is not for the weak in heart.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GYI-uZoLMNc After repair, I show how to replace wing servo and what not to do for wing connectors.

you may save some $$ in Not haveing to buy more props, BUT the radio doesn't know the difference in the siginal that it sends out. the main difference is How many minuetes that your in the air and there someone else waiting to use the same frequentce?. it's amatter of curtesey for the next flyer. most fields have a flight in the air limit.
