Hi
Im whantting too try and build my next plane instead of ARF one so what im asking is there any good wing and fuselage jigs out there? And dose anyone want too get ride of a A-Justo-jig ?

Scott, IMHO an A-Just-O jig is a piece of (insert 4 letter word here)

It's a pain to poke the jig holes in the ribs, hard to match up with the plans and it's really bad if you have taper or sweep. Best thing to do is get a flat table, put a balsa building board on top (available at Tower) and build as normal with pins and plans. As long as everything is flat it's no problem at all.

Same with the fuselage. If the fuselage shape is complicated most designers include a way to line everything up. Usually a bottom or top keel piece.

Have a blast... building your own plane is much more fun than ARFing it.

I'm certainly not trying to talk you out of buying those items, but you can build straight without them. Most kits have a method of wing assembly that assures a straight wing. The fuse assembly also can be done right on your board. I have kit built numerous planes without a jig and none have taken more than a few clicks of trim on their maiden flights.

I typed "fuselage jig" at http://www.google.com and got several results that are RC related as well as some that are not.

I've only built three kits (all from Great Planes) and they are designed to build straight, without jigs, on a flat surface. I think most modern kits can be built without jigs.

I used to have a Fuselage Jig like the one in the [link=http://www.scratchbuilderwarehouse.com/handy_fuselage_jig]Scratch Builder Warehouse link [/link]. It worked great and I used it a lot. Somehow it got lost when the military was moving me around the country for 20 years.

Fuselage jigs are nice to have but straight fuses can easily be built without them. Wing jigs (Ad-Just-O) on the other hand are a waste of time and money.
