engine mounts
I was not sure where to post this but here it is: I am in need of the engine mount
beams that come with the CG Anniversary Cub Kit I've looked all over and can't find them. |
RE: engine mounts
Great Planes bought out Carl Goldberg, so they would likely be a parts resource for the Cub. Good Luck, Dave

RE: engine mounts
look in the RCU market i saw a couple of CG anniversary edition kits out there and were fairly in expensive.
|
RE: engine mounts
I had the same idea dave, I contacted them and they said
they needed a part number but there is no part number on the original mounts or on the parts listing of the plans that came with the kit. |
RE: engine mounts
Here is a link to the mount on Tower's site.

RE: engine mounts
The original had aluminum mounts. I have a set of nylon beam mounts that might be a replacement for the aluminum mounts that come with the kit. Let me know what the distance is between the mounting holes on the firewall and I can measure these. Thanks Dave

RE: engine mounts
Dave, the mounting holes are 19/16 center to center and the usable
beam length is 2 13/16 long Thanks Dave. |
RE: engine mounts
Dave that first dimension looked confusing It's 1 and 9/16 center to center.
|
RE: engine mounts
I have a set of nylon beam mounts that measure 1 and 5/8 inches center to center and they are 3 inches long. I was cleaning up and found a set of aluminum mounts that are 2 and 1/16 inch center to center and they are about 2 inches long with 1 and 3/4 inches of usable flat surface. The mounting beam on the aluminum is off set from center. Let me know if these will work and I can send them to you. Dave

RE: engine mounts
I built 3 Goldberg Cubs and they all came with the nylon mounts.
|
RE: engine mounts
DAVE the nylon mounts sound like what I need, let me know
what you want for them/shipping I'll be thankfull. I never would have screwed up the origonal mounts but I had a stroke a few years ago and I'm more or less building with one hand. |
RE: engine mounts
Email me an address and I will get them out to you. Dave
