CG Ultimate Cowl Problems HELP
 

Building CG Ultimate with Saito 100 at 90 degrees. With a sullivan fuel valve, how do keep from cutting up the whole cowl? The muffler needs a large opening, of course the engine head sticks out, which is OK 'cause I got the GK and it looks sooooo good. And how do I hook up the fuel tubes to the Sullivan before I put on the cowl? Any tips or pictures would be greatly appreciated....

Hope you can understand what I am after, the plane is so great looking I don't want to have to cut up the cowl more that I have to. Thanks in advance

I've just finished a CG Ultimate with a Robart fueling setup installed. My setup isn't exactly the same as yours but I think I know whaT THE Sullivan system is like. You might Mount the fuel dot on the cowl, forward enough so that it doesn't hit the firewall when you put the cowl on. I glued a piece of 1/8 ply on the inside of the cowl to give that mounting area a little more support. Make your fuel lines long enough tobe able to make your connections at fuel dot and carb and then carefully slide the cowl into place while coaxing the lines into position. No kinks. Good luck.

If you are not commited to the Sullivan fueler then you can avoid all the cutting by not using it. My GB Ultimate uses a two klunk tank, and a three linesetup. The third fill/drain line comes out of a fuel dot that is in the fuelage behind the cowling. It's simple and works great! I've never been a fan of a probe type fueler...
