Sig Spacewalker II
Starting a Sig Spacewalker II Kit this weekend. Any good tips, or suggestions from any builders? I plan on using Monokote and a Saito 180 up front. Let me know what you think...

Ditto
I've just recently gotten a 104" Spacewalker and I'm anxious to get started on it too. Any hints or tips from you guys would really be appreciated.
This is the largest box of balsa I have ever gotten. Man there is a lot of sticks in there. I could probably build three planes out of all that wood. |

Let me know what you think... your time and build it per the instructions. This is kind of a busy kit, but the end result is a beautiful flying sport aircraft and a great looking aircraft. I have built two of these and powered one with an OS 1.20 twin and the second one with the Saito 1.50. You will have plenty of power with the Saito 1.80. I do have one tip regarding the ABS cowl that comes with the kit. I would recommend getting a fiber glass cowl, the ABS will start cracking over time unless you have it completely lined with cloth fiber glass on the inside. Also, I found that the braided wire tail supports will also wear through and break over time due to the vibration from the engine. .065 (I think) push rods or other more sturdy tail section supports would be advisable. Good building, you'll love the aircraft. |
