Just Build?
 

Is it unheard of to just scratch build from plans, and sell the final product and/or just use as a static model.

Not at all. A couple of the best scale models I've seen have never been flown. One, of some local historical interest, hangs in an airport; the other is a model of a plane the builder used to own and he doesn't want to risk it. My club once had a member who buit a lot and hardly ever flew. Before ARFs were as numerous and as good as they are now he sold a lot of models. Hard to compete with ARF pricing today, though.

Thank you for your answer, I'm not even sure if I'm in the right forum section but I'm thinking about scratch building something from ziroli. I have some experience building different guillows kits. I want to make something big and that will take alot of time. Is there any plan somebody could recomend to for me?
