Starting Another One
Real windy day and nothing to do. What the heck, I still had one more really old 1/2A kit on hand so I started building it. Anyone that may know how old please let me know. It's a Baby Turkey kitted by sureFLIGHT. I have so much fun with that little 1/2A Little Gasser I built as my first electric I thought I should build this one as an electric too, it's a lot sporty er. Foam core wing but it isn't fully sheeted. Just the LE and TE then rib caps. Looks cool and I will bend some landing gear for it. This is the worst die cutting I have seen in years and the wood is total crap, just like the good old days!!

Ambroid. It glues your airplane while it alters your mind.

Ambroids, sends me back to my youth and my mother yelling at me to quit peeling it off my fingers and spitting it on the floor!!!!;) I'm using CA and GPs wood glue and epoxy on it Not that there is a lot of building involved. With little mods it may take a little longer? I keep thinking a rudder would be nice??

RE: Starting Another One
Speaking of Ambroid........Is Ambroid still made and sold??? I bought a tube about 7 or 8 years ago when I was in a LHS mostly for the nostalgia as I also built many a plane as a youth with that stuff. I just wanted to smell it again! However, I started using it for some glue joints in my contemporary builds. Now the tube is getting low , and I want more. I just built a Top Flight Elder 40 and CA or epoxie didn't hold well on the reinforcement plates on the rear open frame fuselage. That's when the Ambroid got opened! It did the trick very well. It's still very good glue.

RE: Starting Another One
Thanks "Proptop", I'll try my current LHS next time I'am in there. It's a different store than the one that had the Ambroid 7 or 8 yrs ago (that one went belly up). And BTW, when you live someplace like rural Georgia a trip to the 'local' hobby store means a 70-80 mile round trip deal, so if you have an actual 'local' hobby store support him with your business so he stays in business! My flying club field is even further away in a different direction, 3 counties away. My motorcycle gets almost 50 mpg for my LHS trips but I haven't figured out how to carry my Rascal 110 and flight box on the bike yet (large side car maybe)?
