Default Is the Caliber 30 aerobatic??

Hi,

I was doing some mild aerobatics at the weekend with my caliber 30.
It was the first time I did a loop and the heli didn't really loop that well.
I am getting maximum elavator throw on the swash. When I did a loop it seemed to take a while for it to go inverted, I also had to give a lot of negative when inverted to keep the chopper high enough to finish the loop, I did have enough speed.
Does anyone know any mods I can do to make it more aerobatic without spending any money??
I've heard with the raptors you can remove flybar weights, what are these and does the cali have any??

Thanks,
Ross

If you want more cyclic response, then you can put on some different paddles. Also, are you by chance running an OS32 b/c I have heard that it doesn't have a whole lot of extra power.

I'm using an O.S 32 SX-H. I think the engine has enough power, I've seen videos of a caliber with O.S 32 SX-H doing very quick and responsive maneuvers and just trying to figure out why mine won't. I dont want to spend any money buying paddles etc. I'm getting a 90SE in a few months time.

Thanks for the reply,
Ross

well that's strange, your ATV (EPA) is full (right?), you are in FRS mode, your pitch is fine, ur saying the os 32 is fine....the only thing i can think of now is that the servos are too slow and that you should get either ball bearing servos or digital servos.....but i only flew helis for about 1 year and a half so i'm not as experienced as many others here.

I'm getting full swash movement and can't see what difference quicker servos will make...the servos are S3050's all round which seems fine, I think the only way for it to be more aerobatic is a different swash?? or lighter paddles.

I think I'll have to wait for my 90 and just get used to my 30 as it is.

Thanks,
Ross
