Default OS 50 running probs!

hi

i also have the cal 5 and although im not new to helicopters i am new to gas engines, ive jus delt with trexs etc and felt
it would be great to go bigger... im havin a problem thou... when i get my engine (OS 50 hyper) started and say idle for some time
wen i try and open it up.. instead of jus increasing it sounds like its spluttering and goin to die out! and like the glow plug isnt firing or something so i replaced it with a new one! wen i have my glow starter connected it seems to be fine but obviously u cant fly with a glow
starter sittin in there!!! theres not too much smoke either.... pls help me i really dont wanna mess this engine up!

Cool power green stuff doenst smoke as much as the red heli mix, also with 15 percent fuel you are going to have to be leaner than that, my hypers run at under 1.5 with 30 percent fuel and that has to run richer than the lower nitro stuff.

thanks so much i just got my engine running now n seen the difference i guess it was running too rich! but hey i was following th OS manuals they said 1.5 turns! do u think if i have it at about 0.6 turn on my needle it will be bad for the engine or too lean?? it seems stable there and reacts well...?but i dont want to blow this 200$ engine

once again thanks so much for ur time...

Half turn total? That sounds pretty lean, warm it up and put your finger on the backplate, if you cant hold it there 4 or 5 seconds its too lean, if its cold its too rich.
