Just bought a s/h concept 32/vr ex demonstrator so has all the bits apparently... and is in very good condition - has a servo on the boom - which adjusts the pitch of the tail rotor (im i talkin nonsense here?)

anyone tell me about this model? im am completely new to rc heli's

If your totaly new to helicopters have a look at the BMFA website and find your nearest heli friendy club and take it down to them to have a look at (and join up ASAP) Also get yourself a simulator and spend many hours practice before attempting to fly for the first time. I guarentee you'll crash or chop your fingers/head off if you try and fly it with no experience [X(]

It's agood heli to learn on, but discontinued a long time ago now, so parts may be hard to find.

Were abouts in the UK are you? I'm in Notts.

Im in Northern Ireland....

I will take a look at the website. I got the chopper in Sussex Model Centre when i was over there last week - I was in my local rc shop today and the guy said that kyosho weren't too great and parts may be a problem - but hey it was worth the money and it is in very good condition and came with a lot of parts new also...

He told me to bring it down to playing field near me and have some guys look it over for me... thats what i plan on doin on saturday... i haven't even a radio for it yet.. but im in no hurry...

advice on a decent radio would be good too! also what sim is best?

sorry for the dumb questions......my main interest is vw's

but i always loved watchin rc helicopters and this was a good reasonably priced chance to get involved.!

Futaba are a great tx. 9c is good because it can go with any heli if you get more and you'll only need one tx.

Radio choice is down to how much you want to spend.

I use a JR PCM-9XII But I started on a humble Sanwa RD6000-Super and would reccomend it to anyone. Quite cheap and has more functions than you'll ever use. I only upgraded to a 9 channel for my scale planes.

Download the free FMS sim off the internet. You can buy interface cable off ebay for it. I use Reflex, it's very expensive (at over £100) but it's what the show pilots use for training on. very very good. looks like you are flying a real model in a real environment, right down to pixel level collision detection.

If you need any spares in the future, try Midland Helicopters. Trevor stock loads of old Kyosho bits.

Thanks for all the information.

Had a good look at it today - seems all in good order with futaba servos etc... need a charger and a radio and will see if it fires up. will try midland helicopters for parts when i break it :)

spares bag included new clutch - feather bar main shaft - see saw thing - 2 sets of tail rotors and a few other bits...

will get a few pics sorted for you's

WOW!.. When i saw the top of that pic I thought it was a real photo...

Yeah, Reflex rocks! There are several photo realistic flying fields and loads of models to choose from. If you run into the trees it will most likely stick in the branches :D Even the difference between gravel, grass and concrete is very well simulated. The models fly almost the same as the real life versions and the smoke is very lifelike.

Not as expensive as a crash kit for a helicopter though ;)

Really... I found XTR for approx NZD$300 and a crash kit is about NZD$100-NZD$150. That's 2 or 3 crashes before you've payed off your sim. That's a bit when your parents are paying for all the stuff and hey think you wont need a sim...

Why's that? NZ not caught up with the rest of the world yet ;)

Saying that I would love to emigrate to NZ. My best mate up and left a few years ago and he's loving it. He lives in Temuka(?). Visited him last year for 3 weeks mountain biking..... And jeez are there some mountains! Absolutely gorgeous country.

Well in terms of internet NZ isn't in the best spot at the moment. At the moment the best internet is broadband (mean anything?) Some people think we are a third world country because of that...?!?!?!?! We could use e-bay except most things don't ship to NZ and if they do it's like NZD$50... NZ is a nice place. We try and keep it clean and green...
