Default Couple of 116 Questions

I am putting together a 116 for a neighbor. I noticed in the manual that it cautions against using Cool Power due to the lack of castor.
Is this a valid argument and so, should I try to find some Omega.
Also is the Altron gyro stabilizer OK for the TR or should he invest in a small gyro ??

Thanks,
Dan

most heli requires castor oil in fuel to help cool the motor. Remember that in heli, motor is under high stress with low cooling, so I would go with the recommendation.

using mechanical vs electronic gyro, if you have experience flying heli, and add revo mix, I would go with mechanical gyro. For newbies, i would recommend HH gyro or piezo gyro with mix.

Don't run all synthetic! You'll burn it up. You could probably add castor if you were set on flying with cool power.

I learned how to fly with the mechanical gyro and I had no problems with it. Revo mix is a creature comfort, not a requirement. The nose will wag a bit with throttle changes, but not a whole lot. After a bit you get used to it and sort of cancel it out automatically. Until then, it still isn't a big deal. Makes you a better pilot in the long run IMO.

I add 4 oz of caster oil (benol from tower) to fly in my 1/2a engines (.049-074)
I have a small piezo gyro, heli-max that I got with my kit,,but I havent really learned to fly yet so I havent bothered to put it on yet........I think like rico it will be better in the long run not to use it.....Rog
