Hi Peter and LMH mates,
I managed to get some airtime again last Sat and Sunday. It was cold but i still cant help going out and fly the LMH 100+.The training undercarriage broke last time so i have a 24" set instead of 36" set but in fact it is getting even better! you are right, it should not turn much once in air. the problem was the tail fin keep coming off, and then the Z link on the Alrton stabilizer coming off thus making the turns. any idea how to make a good tail fin hold so that it could protect the stabilizer from hitting ground during hard landings?
also after some time, i heard some screeching sound on clutch area, i thought it was not enough lubrication and the clutch seems to engage very tight and thus engine could not idle well if i hold the main blades from turning. i squeeze in some glow fuel into the clutch area ( that is the only lubrication i have at the field) and it seems improve the problem, i.e. i could start the engine and keep it without engaging the clutch shoe but after 5 minutes the problem came back again. i.e. i have to throttle up the engine somehow to keep it running else the friction will stop the engine!
but last night i realised that the main gear was seized at some parts and make the turning hard. but then again, when i start the engine, the gear is not turning yet, so is it the clutch problem or the main gear /clutch gear?
i managed to get the engine off the heli and open out the clutch assembly, it seems ok to me but when i put it back and turn the main blades with my fingers, there are still some screeching sounds when i turn fast.
if i need some LMH parts, i.e. the main gear, tail boom etc, where is the best place to buy? ( also the most realiable postage) as i am in london, UK.
thanks
Lawrence
