Default Alternative battery tray for JR LG?

Well, I finally busted the last battery tab off the bottom of my JR landing gear. I can't believe the beating this little heli can take. I'm looking for a way to rig up a battery tray suspended under the main gear. Anybody come up with a plan? I see Chopper1 has an LG with a similar tray, but I can't afford the $70 just for new landing gear.

Wrap two Velcro straps around the battery, then use two more (one on each skid mounting) going over the skid mounting and around the battery (overlapping the Velcro straps that go around the battery).

I ground off the battery holding tabs and then bolted on a Swift battery holder. It has a bunch of tabs for elastic bands and works great!

How rugged is it in a crash? I'm still learning nose-in and dorking it on occasion....
