Default Motor Placment for an E-Conversion

I bought a 100 LMH helicopter when they first came out way back when. After burning up 2 COX 0.051 engines and only getting to hover twice, it went in the shed to collect dust with the other failed or forgotten hobbies. When I saw a commercial for LMH on TV, it got me thinking about the one in the shed. After a little research on the net I've decided to convert it to electric. I've noticed that the motor is mounted forward of the main rotor shaft on the Corona, where as the engine was mounted behind the main rotor shaft on the 100. Does it make a difference, and does the motor turn in the right direction?
