Hacker C40 w/Wrong ESC?
I purchased a Corona without a motor or esc.
Through the recommendation of my hobbyshop, I separately purchased a Hacker C40-12T motor and a JETI JES 30-3P esc. After reading many posts in this forum and others, it seems most pilots that use a C40 use a Master 40-3P; I've found none using the 30-3P. Did I buy the wrong esc? Can anyone tell me the difference between a C40-12T and a C40-12S? Thanks for your time. Marty |

Lenick:
Oosel's correct, in fact the invoice for my Hacker C-40-12 states "C-40-12-S", but the motor tag says "C-40-12T". I called the distributor, and he said It's for "Tall can" and "Short can", otherwise it's the same motor. I took his word for it. However, the difference in the Jeti 30-3P and the 40-3P is the ability for the 40-3P to carry 10 more amps (33% more) to your motor without overheating or cooking. The Hacker Master 40-3P is really a Jeti controller, but it is more like the Jeti "Advance" series, which have programmable soft starts, brake on / off (and you SURELY don't want the brake functioning) and I think you can shut off the motor low voltage cutoff, so your heli won't "fall from the Heavens" when the battery voltage gets low. You might want to make sure you have the correct ESC before going too far. My ten cents, Russ ;) |
RE: Hacker C40 w/Wrong ESC?
I use the Hacker C40-12T with a JETI jes 40-3P. It has brake on/off (no slow-start option) and I find the slow start is not really needed. All the hobby shop guys use this ESC for their 120's. If you want the advanced Jeti, go ahead. We find it not neccessary. We actually want some tough power when needed.
See if you can exchange your 30-3P for a 40-3P. Now, that is needed for the Hacker. Really a great set-up. ;) |

Thanks to all for your input.
My hobbyshop guys say they use the 30-3P, but have no experience with the 40-3P. I will take your advice and pay the little bit extra for the upgrade. Because they will be testing my model, I'll report back on whether or not they think it was worth it (I'll bet it is). Of course it may be quite a while before I actually finish the thing! Thanks again. |
RE: Hacker C40 w/Wrong ESC?
I have a JETI JES 40-3P controller and LMH Basic 3100 motor
The manual in German is different from the manual in English) Is the following procedure correct ? I connect the battery I switch on the transmitter I put the stick to full trottle 100% I switch on the JETI and before I hear the "beep" I put the stick to zero trottle. And do I have to do this each time I connect an other battery-pack? Greetings |
