fuel draw problem

I have a LMH 110 with VMAX-6 engine . I'm running 30% fuel .
With a full tank the engine runs great but when the fuel gets below half a tank the engine runs fine after i bring it back to idle for a few seconds and then add throttle . For about 15 seconds it runs good and then acts like it is not getting enough fuel . I have the needle set super rich and when i fill the tank back up the problem goes away till the tank gets low again . Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you fix it ?

Thanks, Barry

i fly electric so you may want to ignor me but maybe narow fule line or blocked fuel line, my friend flies with never more than 1/4 tank and is fine. Also chech that air can get into the tank so that it doesn't create negative presure.

I have had this problem when the back plate to the engine was loose. I can also cause the problem with a full tank by holding the helicopter while running and rolling right and left. As the fuel tank is raised relative to the engine, left roll, the engine gets a bit richer as the head goes up. Right hand rolls lean the engine out.

Once again, I only had this problem when the back plate to the engine was loose.

For what it is worth,
Spiro
