As much as I want another LST to replace the old brushless one I sold... I just can't bring myself to order this one. Not even sure why. Is cool as hell though!

Gas is stinky. I save the gas for my lawn equipment.

I'm curious about the gearing in the gas version. Might be a good swap for the nitro trucks for speed. The gas engines don't turn the rpm that the glow engines do so I'm sure they had to gear the gas engine up some to make up for the lower engine rpm. I like the body too.

Might have the same rpm as an .50 mgt engine. They only turn 16,000 max on a nice tune but you can get it up on 20,000 on a lean mixture and some porting.

I get 40mph on a stock mgt that has a 2.1:1 spur and pinion combo. Might get less speed on the same pinion spur combo with the dynamite because of the less torque... But looks like a nice idea for buggys if you gear them properly

The new engine just looks like a scaled down evo engine

IIRC the MGT .50 engine is a modified aircraft engine so the rpm sounds about right for it. If they're timed hot enough they will rev with the small .21-.28 sized engines. That is if they're using a .46 sized crankcase. Add a longer stroke to some hot port timing and some engines can breathe some real fire. If they stuffed an 8cc piston/liner in a .21 sized case then they won't breathe as well due to shallower ports. With the recent introduction of Norvel's GX40 aircraft engine, soon enough they will be installing gasoline fueled glow plug engines in cars. The GX .40 engine uses an ultra hot OS (I think its a P3) Turbo plug and runs on a gasoline/castor fuel mix. No glow fuel, no magneto, or electronic ignition. The only trick with the GX40 engine is the user has to use castor oil in the gasoline to run right. Most guys are using Klotz Benol in them but regular castor will mix with gasoline albeit taking about a week to mix and stay in solution. It saves a ton of weight to not need a heavy flywheel and magneto ignition (or even a reasonable EI unit). Looking forward to seeing one of these in person. My LHS will have them on the shelf as soon as they're released.

Hello, I would have to agree with you, the gasoline powered stuff is fun but it seems as if you have to store them in a shed to avoid your whole house smelling like gas. I had a HPI 5T, and it was awesome. very easy to mix the fuel and go, but i guess my migraine headaches disagreed. Anyways, I had to sell it and stick with nitro. I have 2 upgraded Losi LST XXL's, a CEN 7.7 gst with Goliath body, my old faithful race truck X1CRT and a HPI MT2. I guess i am just a nitro head. Have a good one!

When I still ran nitro I would use rubber caps on the exhaust and carb. It was mostly to eliminate possibly spilling any oil out of the exhaust but some sensitive noses in the house no longer noticed any smell. It would be very easy to do the same on the XXL2 to reduce any smell of gasoline.
