Default JDCarbon fiber hingepins

Anybody try these from JDCarbon?

I just put a set in my racer and they seem to go in nice, lets see how they hold up.

They feel impossibly light

What kind of "Racer" do you have them in?

Please let us know where you got them and how they hold up!

Thanks,
Zac

Id just buy the rod and cut em myself.

but then again; I cant fathom any improvement from them. weight would have to be in the range of single digit grams at best.

guess if its stronger; but could it be? cf always amazes me how strong it is; because it seems so fragile.

Welll in ratio to the size of the truck i think anytime you can save weight (single digits or not) is a step in the right direction. It all adds up!

not if it means a DNF though. Im probably just underestimating it though; probably stronger than the aluminum.

I find them interesting but what happens when the surface gets scratched up throug wear? This will have an effect on suspension movement and a piece of grit can wear a groove in the laminate creating a weak spot prone to stress fracture.

I may be wrong but in offroad racing you need to be contious of just where you put CF.

The biggest weight saving you can make in offroad truck racing is rotational mass (wheel tire combo). In my 7 years of truck racing, I have yet to hear anyone complain that if their truck was lighter I could have.... Very few races outside of the Pro Series are ever won by that close of a margin.

Good, reliable engine, sorted suspension set-up, not crashing much and finishing wins races. Going light at the expense of reliablilty is a dangerous strategy in MT racing, unless you're an excellent racer and stay out of trouble.

They do look bling though, too bad after they're in you don't see them anymore. I'd go Lunsford.
