LST upgrade kit worth it?
Hi, I have a LST1 and I race it, so far it has been great, but now I am thinking of getting the LST upgrade kit to make it to the LST2 standars, I was wondering if it really worth the $140. my truck already have rpm arms all around alum diff covers. secondary gear cover and 23mm pro-line adapter with with dish wheels and crime figthers. so does it really makes a diference? thanks in advance [link=http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=LOSB0014]heres a link [/link]

If you have not problems with breaking parts (knuckles or driveshafts) it is not needed.
i had this problem so i m buying it now . And it is needed to do some upgrades that i want to do.

The Up-Grade Kit is worth the Money, If you want to Keep your RPM Arms...You Could just Buy the LST2 Parts ya Need to Up-Grade from an E-Bay Chop Shop,And get the RPM Adapter Kit....Or make your own spacers......

No performance changes just stronger than stock. It sounds to me like you don't need all the parts in the kit so it may be better to get the parts you need by them selves.

yeah I was thinking of doing that but, for installing the lst2 knucles and carriers do I need larger bearings? or cau they work with stock cvds? or with pro line 23mm adapters?

Aftershock LST CVD vs LST2...
LST2 CVD pins are captured by this large bearing.
LST2 axles are 8mm like a 1/8 scale buggy..
LST1/Aftershock upper a-arms vs LST2
LST1/Aftershock hex pin compared to LST2
LST1/Aftershock rear carrier compared to LST2
LST1/Aftershock axles compared...
Rear wheel of my LST2 after it was ran over by a 1:1 Tacoma..
Replaced Tires and wheels and completed a full race program when I got home I checked it out further (night racing or I would have noticed this)
It filed the rear carrier down on the pavement when the wheel was crush, no LST parts failed...

WOW, thank you so much, I am very impressed by the comparation pics, and also impress that a 1:1 truck ran over your lst tire and nothing broke, I would probably be very pissed with the tacoma driver to start looking for broken parts

RE: LST upgrade kit worth it?
It was totally my fault. I arrived late to the race program and was throwing a quick tune on my rig in the parking lot of a car wash, next to the track. I had just enough time to swap out tire and wheels and race. My first qual started five minutes after it happened. When you are in public places with your R/C it is your responsibility to avoid kids and 1:1's. I am sure the guy in the truck did not even know he hit me.

The pics are very helpful. I have a new Aftershock coming in this Friday and I know I really see what the differance is. I might want to eventurally put the upgrade kit on. For now I will run the truck as is and go from their. I'm not very hard on my stuff so more than likley the stock setup would be fine. Can't wait to get the truck and start running it.

I was winning races and having a blast with my LST1, it's just nice to know you have a factory upgrade path if you need it. I wish they had the Aftershock back when I was wasting good money on a Tmaxx 2.5.........................years ago.

actually you were lucky to get away with only a wheel broken so your panther tires do not wear out if you run them on the road?
