muggy top speed?
hey i was out last night running with some friends and i races my stock muggy against a stock revo 3.3 and was hanging with it so does anyone know the top speed of a muggy???

I wish, i could'nt even hit 45, i got a girly 44.8mph i am so p[:@][:@][:@] but i can smoke my frineds revo and savage

I am in no way defending anyone, but I think a muggy could hit 55, under the right conditions. If you had him running perfect and took him down a steep hill. I think it could do 55. On flat surface, not without some modifications. I read the same report in rc car action on the top speed. In xtreme rc cars they dyno'd the mach 4.27 with a max rpm of 43,250. If you geared your muggy taller, and used something like a jp-3 pipe. I think that you could get that speed. It wouldn't have anything off the line, but once the rpm's started winding you might see something then.
Reguardless though. It doesn't matter to me how fast a truck is. Doesn't mean crap if you can't drive it.

Spur/clutchbell 46/15 = 3.06
Diff pinion/ring 45/11 = 4.09
3.06 * 4.18 = 12.52 overall gear reduction
40 series tire overall diameter = 5in x 3.14 = 15.7inches
55mph/60minutes = .92miles per minute
.92 miles * 5280ft/mile = 4857.6ft/min
4857.6ft/min * 12 = 58291.2in/min (inches/minute)
rpm of wheel to make 55mph = 58291.2/15.7 = 3712.82rpm
Engine RPM = 3712.82 * 12.52 = 46477.76rpm

My muggy stock 44mph, took 250'+ 41-43 i got it up to 44 after 310', Clocked Buy cop, and gps, I will get a vid ad soon as my starter probe comes in from killer. Left the old one in tampa[:@]
Edit: I run 20%, and my temp is 215-260 I don't have a temp gage anymore.[:@]

Personaly I don't care how fast your 4x4 offroad trucks can go on the street because there is tons of cars ,buggies and drag cars that will leave you in the dust so who cares if your muggy goes 70 mph there is always someone faster if you want to go fast on the pavement get a on road car. I don't see the drag car guys talking about how fast they can climb a mound of dirt, now if you said I won the main at my local track or I can clear the tripple and the revos can't then I would say good job man.
