i called horizon today about the scroll button. they told me i have to send the radio in for the repair. they said the scroll button was installed at the wrong angle, whatever that means..

I called Horizon today about fixing my DX3. They said it would take 20 days to fix it! Thats crazy! I'm sure they're busy and what not but that is just ridiculous, it shouldn't take that long for such a small fix. I'm tempted to still fix it myself. I work with circuit boards everyday and I guarantee I can fix it where the switch wont break off the board. I wonder if Horizon is just replacing the scroll wheel with a new part just like it?? I dont believe Losi when they say the wheels were in there wrong, my switch was not in crooked or anything and was assembled properly. I think the wheel is just a cheap part and saying it was assembled wrong is just an excuse to tell everybody. In that case the wheel could still break off again, unless they replace it with a revised wheel. But even if it is a revised wheel wouldnt there still be the possibility of it breaking the switch off the board?? I dont wanna void my warranty, but I dont want to wait 20+ days either!! I dont know what I'm going to do...[]

get a cheap 2.4ghz losi TX off ebay... then you can use that to drive your spektrum equipped vehicles in the meantime... you would lose reverse, but at least you can still drive

Well I sent my radio to Horizon on the April 20TH, They received it April 22ND and I just received it, (fixed), by FedEx today. Seems by looking at it they reused my scroll button that I fixed so I'm guessing they fixed the circut board for the scroll button mechanism or they replaced it. Either way It's back home and I'm very happy. Now I can get back to monitoring my telemetry settings and get ready for the racing season at OakHill Speedway in Waterford Pa.

Hope Ya'll have a safe and fun summer of 2009.

I think they just repaired it how it was supposed to be. If I get a chance next week I might open it up and see what they did to it. Just so I know what kinda of fix they did to it.

Sure makes me glad I bought a Futaba 3PKS...... Ialways felt the Spektrum unit felt cheaply made....... no offence meant to anyone, but Ihave seen way too many issues with the Spektrum....

Possibly, but not definately. If they fixed it to last that would mean they put a circut board in there that the scroll mechanism isn't crooked. I know mine was when Ifixed it. And since they put my scroll button back it will prolly last this time. But I guess time will tell.
Is there a way to put a DX3R button in the DX3S? or are they different? I just heard the button is in the middle of the DX3R and the DX3S is on the left, as we all know.

I love my 3PKS so much I bought a second one.Futaba makes the best radios period. I gave my son the 3PJS (circa 1999) that I used prior to getting the 3PKS and we still use the 3PB radio that I bought in 1991. I've never had a Futaba product fail, the feel of the buttons and case is superior.No offense either, butI don't think you'll see any Spektrum radios in use after 18 years.

Thanks for the link bigblock! I still havent sent mine in cause I've been having too much fun with my truck and dont have another 2.4 to use while the spektrum is gone. This will be perfect, now I can just wait for the parts and fix it myself instead of waiting forever for horizon to fix it!

Your welcome. I had a Spektrum DX2.0 for sale on ebay. Starting bid was $100. Auction was for the Radio and one SR3000 Receiver. No bids at all,still got it. Glad it didn't sell because that's what I used while mine was being fixed.
