Leopard 4092 E-Muggy Build.

The 1717 propels a truggy/muggy to greatness.
The question that arose is would the Leopard 4092 3d
be to long for the muggy Chassis?

(it does from following forum, Link provided below)

I mostly run 6s but in my last trade that netted me a couple 2s lipos to wire for 4s

I am curious as my second Muggy roller should be arriving here shortly to start my Conversion on...
Any help would be great for ideas .

I have had a couple stupid E-revos and fluxes
but have since decided to sell the arsenal and start over as boredom was kicking in.

So without further ado Cause i am to lazy to rewrite things so i will provide a link to the following thread.
I now present to you my Thread on a 4092 E-muggy Project...

Looks good, so you put in a single servo mount ? I just cut my stock servo mount right after the mount screw to the left of the two servos, to clear for the motor

devious1 03-23-2012 08:17 PM

RE: Leopard 4092 E-Muggy Build.

Thank you
I had the single servo plate, batt tray, and esc tray, was all custom made and powder coated along with the chassis being powder coated where my wife works.
Motor mount is an rc-monster

Brace is aluminum angle
I am hoping between the brace
and having attached the batt and esc tray screwed onto the chassis and brace both
that it will be strong enough of a bracing setup for now

I would have kept the factory servo plate but when i received the truck from a member on the marketplace here
it was a complete hackjob, frame bent and hacked up, servo plate was cracked. bulkheads cracked and stripped.
i could literally list a dozen things that were bad.

That is one of the reasons i had to have a plate made, so i just went ahead and gave them the measurements
and had everything cut...

I am waiting to start test runs to see which direction i want to go first, If i want to go towards the leopard 4092, also
the castle 1717 has also peaked my interest again since they released it on the xo-1
or if i want to lean towards the innovative 4mm brushless chassis or losi hd chassis.

I have more pics coming later of the truck completed.
I smoked my original esc i was going to run soon as i turned it on [:o]so my esc tray is currently going to be voided
as my leopard esc is to big for the tray, and i dont want to run my monster esc yet which will also fit.

I hope to start test runs with my 2000kv system sometime this week.

My ultimate goal was for an ultra clean factoryish type look to it.

RE: Leopard 4092 E-Muggy Build.

Well got some testing done this week so far, Running great motor is a bit warm on this setup for a 19t pinion so ill have to drop to a 18t maybe even a 17t...
I am hoping when i finalize on either the 4092 or the 1717 i can run the 19t pinion or even a 20t with the same truggy tires i am running...

Previous persons cheap glue job didn't take long to show its head on the wheels with tires like pizza cutters.
here are the pics of being 90% done...

RE: Leopard 4092 E-Muggy Build.

Wow this place is extremely dead...
FYI: pink body is previous owners, which is quite beat.
Need to get ideas for bodies, I have 2 e-revo bodies that
i may try and fill the body post holes in and add some for the muggy...

Anyone have any suggestions?

RE: Leopard 4092 E-Muggy Build.

Well the pink is not bad nice paint job to.  Switch th pink out for red would be cool with the same body type.

devious1 04-07-2012 06:15 PM

RE: Leopard 4092 E-Muggy Build.

Yeah the pink is a little to be desired, however during my testing stages it will suffice till i reach my final stage then i hope to find a body that i like.

RE: Leopard 4092 E-Muggy Build.

Well i am just taking time to update this thread so here is my current running setup...

Full weight w/2 3s 6000mah nano tech lipos. =13.5lbs

current test Motor/Esc = Leopard 2000kv/150a esc setup.

Pinion/spur 16t 46t spur, i think, to lazy to look:)

Springs = progressive 8.9 ppi at the top and 15 ppi at the bottom

diff as follows F/C/R. 30k/200k/30k... Love this setup front tires don't unload, steers great and drives like it has limited slip in the center.

Wheels = unknown truggy wheels.

tires = I believe proline hole shots (sucks ***** in grass, hit the dirt it Hauls *****)

everything else in minor if anyone would like to know anything else on my setup let me know.

All vids posted will have what my setup is at the time of the vid.

Nice set up, i actually converted my muggy to brushless about 2+ years ago and never looked back. I loved it, its currently exactly how you see it in the pic except i removed the 2200KV motor and replaced it with a 1717 from the castle fire sale a few years back. I use it STRICHTLY ONROAD its never seen a spec of dirt nore will it ever. Good luck with you sale!!

RE: Leopard 4092 E-Muggy Build.

Wow thats nice and clean. I like it...

Ill end up having another eventually,
i just hope i don't regret selling my Queen.
Still brand New, with new conversion.

I bought the wife a Rustler a while ago, and was hoping she would run the muggy (fail)
So i am selling to invest in a Ten-T to convert so i can run something with her...

New one is being sold to put her threw the Ccl course and pickup a toy or 2 for that...
