Well I got a new cleaning method that works. Kids ask parents first.

Is striping it down really worth it?

I don't use a dishwasher because it leaves spots.:D

It's worth it if you want to clean it. If you do not want to clean it I do not recomend striping it down.:D

What is the weight of your LST now ?
The wheels are full of water ?
Did you put scotch tape in the hole of the wheels ?

Husbands, don't even bother asking. The wife was looking over my shoulder at this thread, I mentioned that using the dish washer to clean up the LST was great idea......not a word was spoken but the look I got spoke volumes. Undoubtly, those of you with ex-wives, wives and/or "live ins" know what I'm talking about.

I can well imagine the looks you got

I would not dare do that with my LST as that would be the end of my hobby[:'(]:):)

My wife IS my dishwasher, and I doubt she'd like me putting the LST in her.

My wife did not say a word. But " your a goof" As far as the tape over the holes good idea
got to do that next time. Wheels are out of balance now till they dry. I had to. Either that or take it to the car wash. No damage done to either though. Just blew it dry with an aircompressor not a hair dryer LOL, and sprayed it down with alot of wd-40.

to get water out of wheels drill a couple small holes in center of tire in 3 spots . run a couple straits and water will be gone.

snortonLSTrules 04-17-2005 05:14 PM

RE: Cleaning solution

I think I will wait for the water to evaporate rather then drill holes in the tires. Thanks though. Good idea if you want holes in your tires.

RE: Cleaning solution

holes in your tires do no damage at all, although i think drilling into rubber might be hard, i can imagine it would get all tangled round the drill bit.

RE: Cleaning solution

Except maybe you end up with holes in them :D

RE: Cleaning solution

so? you dont go and drilll a 1inch hole, just a couple mm! it wont do any harm, your hardly gonna notice it at 40mph, and they wont get enlarged

I spray mine down with "Simple Green" & let it soak a bit. Then rinse with hot water & blow dry with the air compressor before detailing. For that I use either silicone spray or WD-40 depending, with a cotton rag... But I love the dishwasher idea better! Lucky I have a tiny washer or I might try it.:)

What are you giving it a perm and some highlights??? Do you take appointments. I would love my LST to look it's best before each race. You are the LST stylist!!! lol
