Wing on LST??

Has anyone here installed a wing on their LST for racing? I tried to search the forum but came up empty.

Yup. I cnc'ed the plates, drilled four holes in the tower, and there we go!!!

I made the plates to get the wing mounted last weekend, but I guess I could run some for sale. I have been cutting/selling cnc stuff, as DPP Racing, mostly for the Lightning Stadium Pro, on forums and Ebay. If there is interest in these, I could add them to the list.

I'd like a set of these plates. What's the price and availability of them? Also, what wing parts did you use-MBX5 wing, stays and braces?

Well...now I suppose I don't have to tell everyone about theese cools CNC plates that I saw on an LST last sunday since you did it for yourself!:D

On another note, I saw this LST cartwheel a couple of times last weekend and the wing seems to hold up fine. I say if you want a wing on your LST this is the way to go.

Ah, Jeff, that you? Lol, now I know where I recognize you from, you an EMT?
Yah, these hold up just fine, I did do some nasty cartwheels. They are MBX-5 buggy mounts, I run em on all of my moster trucks.
$15 shipped for two plates, they are pretty easy to cut but there are two of them.

Why was I thinking Jeff? Sorry bout that!
Analogy-Your plates are shipping tomorrow, you should see them by the weekend, thanks!
I am thinking most of these guys have never seen a wing on a race monster before??????? I won't even run my practice trucks without them, the benefits are HUGE!
These look familiar Jay? Lol.

RE: Wing on LST??

Jay-It's killing me, believe that! There are 5 more offroads here, plus the carpet fleet. For some reason I figured that having 3 full race rigs and 3 practice models would make less work. I was very wrong!
Benefits of buggy wings:
1) DRAMATICALLY increases the rollover effect of the truck, most of the time when crashing the truck will end up back on all 4 wheels.
2) Saves the body, they last probably 10 plus times longer for me. I used to rip teh rear body posts out, especially on race style bodies, in one race day from wheelies. No more with wings. The flame body on the Dom in the pic, it was destroyed at the rear posts a year ago, I put the wing on and have been using it ever since.
3) A handle for turn marshals!
4) I suppose that there are aerodynamic reasons, as with buggies, but I am not able to tell.
