Engine problems!
 

I broke in my axial.32 using the RBMods heat cycle method. Worked great. was running great, etc..etc.. That is, UNTIL i start preformance tuning it[:@] It isn't creating a whole lot of power, accells slow, and mainly Fights itself to crawl back down to idle! I have not re-sealed the carb yet, I plan to later today. Any suggestions?

BTW I recommend using the break-in procedures that are listed in the book that came with your motor :D

Ehh, I dont believe that running 5 tanks for break in would help me anymore than it would hurt me..:eek: This RBMods heat cycle procedure has been proven and was recommended to me by some of the top members on the forum here.. I really can't mess with it until i get my spindle replaced though.. I wasn't able to get anything to seal my carb with today, will tomorrow.

Aaron, the slow back to idle sounds like the low speed needle is too lean.

I'm not going to amuse you with a rebuttle on the subject of break-ins, I've been breaking in motors for 7 years now, I think I know what I'm doing.

As for you problem, following manufacturers guidlines, is not a bad idea, however taking advice from a complete stranger you call a top member is by far the smarter idea?

Its all advice here, take it with a grain of salt, and learn from your mistakes.

btw I do own the Axiel also, and I advise you not to touch the mid range needle at all, ever. you should only be playing with the top end even after break-in, if you changed anything else, go back to factory and start over.

Who said i made a mistake using that break in procedure? It was running fine before i started trying to preformance tune! It worked out great and I have no regrets.. I just need to get my spindle replaced so i can fien tune it now that i'm back at factory settings.. I just needed opinions on what could be wrong so when i go out there tomorrow I can have something to go off of. And yes, I consider Jefx, 2D, SublimeJason, and Claudacio credible members, and trust that their info is correct. And no offense man, but you are kind of preaching to the choir.. What makes your opinion any more valid than anybody elses? Why is it that i'm in the wrong for listening to the guys, and not you? There are many different ways to break in an engine.. Very rarely will you find more than a handful of people that agree on the same method.. But not only did my LHS owner recommend it, but some of the most credible and informative forum members did too. I'm not trying to pick a fight man, I'm just throwing that out there.. Some follow by the book, some dont. It's my choice..

Nor did I state my opinion was any more crediable than anybody elses.
