Are there any gas tanks that will fit on the Aftershock that arent LST/LST2 tanks? This is my third tank I have had thats had problems with it. Will tanks from other trucks fit without modifications? Thanks....

When ever the fuel level in the tank gets below the seam, it stalls and I cant start it again, even if its cooled down. If I fill it up its fine. I tried sealing it and it worked for a while. This is the third tank that has done it. Thats why I'm looking for a different tank.

thats just a tank cover/ protector isnt it?

and the answer is no, there are no after market tanks apart from a billet aluminum one. have you taken out the primer?

I cant afford that. No I havent. If I took it out how would that affect the fuel level at the seam?

I was at my lhs the other day. I saw a buggy where someone took and airplane fuel tank and basically zip tied it down. If you were just bashing. It might not be too much of a problem. It was ugly as hell, the moment you flipped you might have a problem, but it is an alternative.

well i am guessing the seem problem is an airleak. so have you tried submerging it, seal one fuel line and blow in the other so its pressurized. if you see bubbles coming out you know its a leakage problem. but deffo take the primer out, when i get back i will take a photo of how i have done mine. it also might be an idea to epoxy up the seam aswell. this will reinforce that weak point and possibly fill any gaps.

as for an airplane tank, i have often thought about doing this but even my smallest tank is huuuge. one advantage is that it has a clunk though so no matter what the orientation is, it will always be sucking fuel, just like an 8ight

I tried epoxying it and it worked for a while. But then it just started pealing off and I had the same problem again.

try pulling a vacuum on the tank, then epoxy it. might work better

thats really extrange I never had problems with the LST1 or LST2 tanks, well you could just buy a new stock one and see if that take away your problem, also remember that the shorter the line between the pipe and the tank, the more presure you get to the tank.

as far as the primer goes.. i just took mine our, used a hot glue gun anf sealed the hole. All i do to prime the engine is cover teh exhauset hole till i see the fuel reach the carb. only thin is. If the truck stalls when its been running, the exhaust gets a bit hot( or when running at WOT melts your finger print ) but i like this idea way better then that stupid primer:eek:

i blow down the pressure line to prime it.
