Is any one be surprized by this action??

After ALL that has been said and done in / by / around the SWZD in the last six months - what were you expecting him to do when he was faced by the MAAC BOD and the general population at the AGM??

He would have no where to hide.
He would have limited support.
He would have to ANSWER QUESTIONS!!

He is now simply showing us his true colours.

Here's hoping that the general membership of the SWZ elects a better person next year.

Well, that is one problem solved. All we have to do now is clean-up and move on.
Happy flying

............THE END. (hopefully)

As stated on RCC, I hope it's clean break and the SW finds someone with no connection to any of the previous years of politics. Best of luck to them.

Cheers.

It is actually a relief. No big confrontation at the AGM -- which could have been very nasty, not to mention lasting all day, plus a chance to forget all of this stuff & concentrate on flying airplanes.

Airplanes --- Yahhhhh. [8D]

That's disappointing news indeed! I have already spent $500 for the trip, and didn't get cancellation insurance. Oh well, I guess it's worth the $500 to personaly thank the board for their efforts. I seem to recall that one of them owes me a beer too, so not all is lost. $500 for a free beer! That kind of investing makes me government material!

Hey!! It does indeed!!!
Isn't MAAC a 'FORM' of government? - "...The Governing body of Aeronautics in Canada..."

Jason - YOU ARE QUALIFIED!!

I nominate Jason for the position of SWZD!!

All in favour say "AYE"

It was a wise move by Chuck. I guess he finally read up on the guidelines for a ZD and realized he was in trouble. Anyways, lawyers are costly and he was surly going to have his MAAC membership revoked due some of his actions. I think the message got through to him and attending the AGM wouldn't be prudent. Then, no MAAC insurance to go playin' with toy airplanes at MAAC sites or events.

We should commend him for his decision and let's just leave him to enjoy his hobby, after that's all it is....a hobby

Goldguy - you are absolutely correct.

That is what has been said time and time again, 'We are a bunch of grown people that are playing with toy airplanes'...

Then a few folks took it too serious, thought they knew more than everyone else, tried to run things their way, politics entered the conversation and ... we had controversy - over toys. [:'(]

Sharpy and I did our stint as ZD's, and came to appreciate that it is just a past time, a hobby, and are both glad we have the extra time now for it, now that were out of model airplane politics.

Yes, we saw extremes when it came to a divided BOD back then. It was frightening, as I was the smallest guy there.

But, I did enjoy the experience and meet some great modelers that have volunteered their time because they care about the organization and now know full well that the future of MAAC is in good hands.

It has been my experience that being able to "turn the page" on an issue is directly proportional to the amount of blood, sweat and tears shed by the individual over time. This situation has its roots over 5 years ago. I think adaptabl is right and it won't be over "till the fat lady sings" ... currently I don't hear anything.

good to see you Thunder. When are we going to fly some planes? I've got a nice FW-190 I'll sell you. It looks just like the one you lent me. I think you should come to Ottawa this weekend with me.
