Recommendation No.3 Code of Ethics
Recommendation No.3 Code of Ethics: (pages 11-15)
Wow! This is one woppin document! Obviously, someone has spent a great deal of time putting this together. I'm curious how the BOD will deal with this one at the AGM? Is this something that has been put together under BOD supervision so the directors are familiar with it and have sufficient time to review prior to heading to the meeting? |
RE: Recommendation No.3 Code of Ethics
Marc,
That code of ethics was very carefully prepared and is designed, not to cause any member hardship or embarrassment, but to safeguard our association. I am more than prepared to sign this document, and I would have severe misgivings about anyone who would refuse to do so. It is high time that directorship of MAAC be restricted to those who are prepared to act ethically at all times. The code has been published in the magazine. It is the responsibility of all directors to be familiar with all agenda items as you would know. MAAC was challenged to be "businesslike" in a zone report last fall. I would have it no other way. I fully expect this item to pass with 12 of 13 Board members in support. Richard Lyle Barlow Ottawa Valley ZD |

RE: Recommendation No.3 Code of Ethics
With Carl and Colin Campbell coming from the Atlantic Zone, it is understandable that this should have surfaced there, given their concern about keeping MAAC on the straight and narrow. I was in Toronto with Carl on the weekend but never thought to ask him about this.
