I would make (some of) muncie understand that
the PPM was created for the PPP: When you end the PPP you end the PPM
(and fire the persons you hired explicitly for the PPP/PPM)

I would change the AoI purpose statement and file under a 501(c)(7) status.
Then I could cancel my membership.

Remove the mandatory MA subscrition from the dues and reduce the dues by the $18 so people will stop saying MA is "free".

As said many times before, I would like to see the AMA make an effort to educate the general public on model aviation through TV and other national media. I'm getting tired of watching the Jumprope National Championships. (But I wouldn't mind seeing something about ferrets.)

There are so many things that I would like to see changed that I don't really know just where to start.
OTOH it would probably be with their pseudoforum and the management thereof. First would be the way the moderators perform or just fire everyone of the current power seekers. What a waste of effort even trying to do something constructive with that group. Just like this coming November, 02, being National Dump the Garbage Day, IMO, that forum needs some garbage dumped. IMO again, that forum is not doing AMA much good. But then again, that is just my personal opinion. [

Nothing would change for you, you would pay $40 dues and $18 for MA checking off two instead of one box on the renewal.

Why change any thing at all ,i have had my mag and my ama dues for over 30 years. If you and a couple others think you are going to change any thing in the ama ,then i think you are not as educated as you would have people think. joe
Dont you know folks are holding just 4 guys here responsible for the failure of PPP?
4 Of us wield more power than the entire EC and ama membership, or so they would have folks believe

Seems you want to pay $58 and get the mag
... sound like Cisco's plan allows you to do exactly what you want.
Or is it that you dont want to pay $58 so you can get the mag, but what you actually want is to force others to do so.

When did I say I wanted to "get rid of" the AMA?
Change things about the AMA? Yes! Get rid of it? No.
He just wants to continue posting untruths about me and putting words in my mouth.
Post a full quote jobob, none of your cut and paste shenanigans.

Twisting my words again? or you don't understand the word "need".
I don't need cream in my coffe either. However, I buy and use cream in my coffee all the time.
Many people are lactose intolerant or prefer their coffe black, they don't need or want cream.
Of course nobody needs model aircraft at all. You going to claim I am trying to ban model aircraft now?

What would I change about the AMA? a high school reading level requirement?
"he wants to get rid of it" is much different than "we don't need it"
I say we don't need it, you claim that I want to get rid of it.
Either you don't understand English or just can't stop telling lies.
I want to "get rid of" jobob.
I don't "need" my wife.
Completely different concepts.

Weird thing that "block" someone. In war the opposing sides go to great length to learn about the other side. Those sides that then block what is found out because of various reasons, ususally lose the battle.
In a discussion or analysis of a situation, why should I NOT listen to the other side. Should I be afraid that I may learn something that could cause me to change my mind and thus have to say I am/was wrong? Actually, IMO, I rather be proven wrong than waste my time in error. OTOH when I know that I am correct, then the other side usually presents information that can easily be shown as incorrect, and/or lacking in suitability.
Not meaning to be nasty to anyone, just again my experienced opinion, I much rather NOT block, but just let the other side rant, and then watch HIM go down in flames. If I fail to listen to him rant, then just how do I go about voiding his theories? Does the pitcher in a baseball game rather try to allow the batter to hit the ball, and depend on the fielders to make the out, or does the pitcher first try to strike the batter out? [sm=confused.gif]
Those that block rather than face the music are not of the personality that I would like to have as a wingman or share a foxhole with.

I am an AMA and USAMA member. I am simply supporting organizations that I am convinced have been good for the American public. I want to support them and be a part of doing more good for everyone. Sometimes that requires saying and doing things that many do not understand or agree with, especially those who only take their own private interests into consideration.
IMHO anyone who can't think of something to change in any organization to make it better isn't involved enough.
BTW, I do not need either group's insurance policy, despite nonsense posted by others to the contrary.

I wonder what the economics of an optional magazine would be like. Are there economies of scale with the present publication numbers?
