I’m glad to present the DUALSKY XM6355DA-12 F3A Motor. The motor that I will use next seasons in F3A.

First impressions are really good. I am surprised about its high performance. Powerful motor break, soft sound and really really much power. Here in Spain we have high temperature and this motor don't have any problem, thats another good new. Its have similar power than the old hacker C50 13 XL but with less consume, an average of 2400 mAh per flight, ranging 2000 more or less in a slow flight and 2700 using lot of power. I still flying with batteries of 3300 and 3600 without problems.

I Will continue testing but so far I am very happy with the change.

Looks to be a little heavy based on the website specifications of 618 grams. Seems the Plettenberg is still the lightest of the out-runners.

I assume the mounting pattern is the same as your previous AXI 5325/24 power plant?

Jason, this motor is not yet on the web. I think you saw the XM6360 that has more weight (618gr) but still has more power. About the pattern mounting, yes, it has the same mount system so I changed it in 10 minutes. Its really easy to mount, 4 screws and ready to fly.

In the attachments you could see how much do the motor, hardware accessory package and optional firewall mount weigh.

Dualsky, for this weight and performance has really competitive price.

Dando about your firewall mount I think that its not necessary. I only use that piece of carbon and 4 screws and I've never had any problems. ( photo )

Do you think you can reverse the shaft so as to not need the 106 gram firewall adapter?

Seems to be very light, i really like this motor.
I hope there will be a backmounted version, the firewall adapter is too heavy comparing to a regular X mount.

Guys, unfortunately there's no way to reverse the shaft that I've found. I'm not even sure how one could disassemble the engine - there are no screws which bolt the rotor to the shaft.
I think a reversible shaft would be a great addition to the already nice motor I'd use it in my Vanquish, but unfortunately it wouldn't fit without modifications and the mount is unneccessary weight.

I like to inform you that last weekend Juan Rombaut win the F3A Spanish Championship with the Dualsky XM6355DA motor. Also Dualsky motors finish 6th and 9th.

Today i got a chance to run my new setup.

Dualsky 6355-10T running it on 8S swinging a 22X12.

79 Amps and 2390 watts.

This is currently in an Oxai Shark that weighs 10lbs 12 oz but unfortunately I dont think this setup is going to give me the performance I want but, I also have a Pentathlon which with this setup will come in at 9 lbs 14 oz with this setup so it might be more plausible.

I will keep you posted but I am very energized by this because a flight pack of 8S 4400mah costs me 65 bucks a pack.

Well at this moment Im Building a Wind S Pro with the 6355 and I will used 20-13 Pt prop runing on 10s 4400 I will post some picture of my motor installation

I bought my first motor few months ago- Dualsky 6355 12 DA after 20 flights- rubbish- 13 from 14 magnets was wrong- loose position. OK replacement and second motor after 17 flights- big resonance vibration on the middle trothle stick position. Noisy and strange sound. Quality of this motor is lower than Made In China 20 yrs ago. The best is only sticker.
Dualsky that is big sh....t. Now I know why only sposored people heave good opinion about Dualsky.

Sorry to hear your problems with Dualsky motors, it is surprising.
I am using Dualsky motor for F3A since 5 years ago. My first Dualsky XM6360CA was replaced after 200 flights because new and lighter XM6355DA became available. XM6355DA is now more than 500 flights and not problem at all, even not replace ball bearings. Some times I open my plane motor cover to look at, and all is Ok in the motor.
It is difficult that magnets came out of position in Dualsky motor, as they are supported in the can and glue is good. In Spain summer we have more than 34º and in extremately hot days I mesure close to 60ª in the motor can some seconds after landing and not problem at all. I think, because the strange sound it is possible you do not have the right speed controller setting and it give you the problems and overheating. For sure if you include new message with the propeller, speed controller brand and the settings someone can help you to solve the problem. Also you can contact directly to Dualsky.
Last July we had the Spanish championship and we are 5 pilots from 21 with Dualsky, and all of us very satisfied. It included Juan Rombaut and his father, supported by Dualsky. I was supported by the company I worked, but I finish with this company one and half year ago and I still using Dualsky motors. Other two pilots do not have any support and I am sure they are over 500 flights on Dualsky without troubles.
Because my work at radio control companies I can tell you Dualsky motors are the best in China.

My story – I’ve decided to purchase the Dualsky motor XM6355DA-12 F3A after reading this topic. Let say, as a non-expensive spare motor instead of my old AXI5325/24. Mounting dimensions are almost the same and lightweight. And now this well finished motor in my hands. AXI is still strong therefore XM6355DA-12 - new in box. But most funny thing is the Dualsky motor weight: a) declared by producer and b) real (see attached pictures):

1. Netweight on a label: 566g
2. Real weight on the scale: 658g including prop adapter, nut etc. (23g for all small parts)

It’s significant difference, isn’t it? Somebody can explain this?

Interesting. In one of the first posts there is a picture of a Dualsky motor on a scale weighing around 563g or something. That is impressive. 635g for the motor (minus 'small parts) is obviously not the same. 560g motor is enough to make me want to buy two. over 600g and I don't even want to see it.

I am surprised by the weight published by Quantas, as the weigth I was check is similar to previous post, 589grs. with accesories, as you can see in the pictures form the link;

I think Quantas mistake motor and have XM6360DA, who is 635grs. from manufacturer. If we can see the Quantas pictures we can check it. Even is possible Quantas have wrong labeled XM6360DA, strange but not impossible.

My Dualsky XM 6355DA 12 is including prop adapter exact 583 gr.
I´ve powered my scratch build Lightning from Jeff Carder with this Motor and i´m happy. No problems so far.

Hi I have a DA 12 weighing 568gm with prop driver etc 10 flights and replaced under warranty after magnets came loose (since unused)
I have a DA 13 weighing 558gm with prop driver etc 20+ flights and all is fine but £120 more! power good and throttling/braking excellent.

XM6360 - several hundred flights in Texas. No failures and some hardware to show for it. I have a XM6355DA12 ready to put in a new project this Fall/Winter...mine is 569g with prop driver.

Is the motor you are using a 12 or 13?
The F3A fraternity in the UK is quite a small group and to have 2 or 3 failures of the '12' in so few flights is concerning.
I have to say that replacements were provided without question.
Even the higher priced '13' is very competitive if it remains reliable.

The setup in the previous photo was a 6360-12 (sorry to have caused any confusion with the DA) and included a spin77 opto and a PT models 21x12WE. After nearly losing this plane to a bad switch (phew) I acquired a Dualsky regulator and failsafe switch combo...the regulator output is adjustable as well. I have 6355DA-12 ready and waiting for me to finish my next F3A project.

I have a Dualsky 6355DA-12 mounted on my Wind S Pro that has been flown twice at the US Nats; motor is going strong and it has 1000 plus flights ! I will be replacing the bearings for preventive maintenance as soon as I can find a replacement as they are out of stock here in the US. I would buy a spare motor and possibly install it in another project but just like the bearings they are out of stock ... has any one flown with the 6355DA-10 ? Would like input on this one as it is the one available for purchase at the moment ...
