Default My Panther II Build

I have not posted a build here for some time now last year seen someone else did a Panther II build I liked is so much I'm doing my own but doing it my way .
Here is a link to my club build page .
And a couple pics of what Ive done so far and one of what I'm looking for in the last pic you will see the wrong caps on the road wheels have to do it with KT caps at this time cause it's the newer second gen KT wheels the double bearing version the shafts are 2 long will have to get the old single bearing wheels latter on .

http://dettankcom.org/forum/index.php?topic=2752.0

Thanks
Jimmy

Oooh! You have my attention now Jimmy! Looks like a good (and expensive) start. I've waited so long to start my Panther F build that I now am thinking of doing the same as you ... a Panther II build. It did have thicker armor than a regular Panther and the steel rimmed wheels with transport tracks look killer!

Have you seen this build: http://www.rctankregiment.com/rctank...hp?f=71&t=2055 From our pals across the pond?

Anyway, thanks for making my day man!

I am sure you have seen these.......

http://www.peachmountain.com/5star/T...erII_Tank.aspx

I depends on how "real" you want it to be.....Another thing everyone get wrong is the hull hatches....the idea with the panther 2 was it war supose to share more parts with the king tiger...the panther 2 was suposeto have a king tiger trans access plate with king tiger hull hatches. When the panther 2 hull was "found", It was missing these peaces sosome motor pool personjust madea panther g plate and hatches fit......or so Ihave read.........Anotherthing I have read is the panther g turret was designed for the panther 2 .....but like I said, thats just what I have read.

Is THAT a Panther II or a Panther F with the 88MM? The reason I ask, the heater fan and that exhaust is not a part of the PII hull layout. Plus, the driver(s) hatch angles are all wrong and more like the G/F layout.

I really don't care how one builds his version or idea of what a tank looks like, but these drawings ...

the pictures you show are from the us panther II because they melt dawn the real turret by accident they had to use a G type turret instead , it was not disigned that way !!!

am not realy shore they broaden up the F turret to fit the 88mm canon in real life, that's what i had done

I know all about the story with the Panther II at the Museum. That drawing you are showing is a Panther F with an 88MM. Not a Panther II.

And I DO have the Panzer Tracts No.5-4 and that drawing is not in there. As a matter of fact, there is NO 88MM mentioned in that issue.

Third one is not a Panther II but a Panther F. You have 2 different tanks there.

look at pics 16-17....those are king tiger rear deck parts.....and not in your drawing..

http://www.peachmountain.com/5star/T...erII_Tank.aspx

From what I have read, the panther 2 was to have a lot of king tiger parts as of late 43...if you are going to projectsome 44-45 mods like heaters and suchon the tank, why not include july 45 kt rear deck parts like the vent shutters?

Nope ... the Panther II is on the left, the Panther F is on the right (even says so at the bottom ). Neither are with the 88MM you are showing and also that drawing is not in the issue.

Oh, I see. First you claim the drawing is a Panther II and you got it from Panzer Tracts. Now you say you got info from this other book as well. I happen to have both and that drawing isn't in it either. As a mater of fact, all that they refer to the Panther II tank is on page 50 is the lower hull. No Panther II turrets at all.

Again the third pic is not a Panther II. Neither is the second.

So we done? This was supposed to be about Jimmy's build, not you showing and claiming the wrong drawings.

mine has the koti undercariage, the angles were converted as i found , its quite a time ago, many of the scans aren't related to books , not in my memory ... if you not wonna believe it is your good right ... but even the axels are removed to fit the kotiwheels you can see that on jimmy's one, its almost identical ... there are simply not enough plans left to proof it ... we can argue for weeks but nothing would be solved ... i even had discussed with mark about it ... mine is not 100% accurate i admid but it is the closed you can get with so little information ... even mark had admit the drivers and gunners hatches were correct guy's
so let no hack jimmy's tread any longer let him show his model

for me mine and jimmy's model are for 90% correct
