Default Capacitor Discharge Ingnition

Good Day all... I have been interested in electronics for quite some time now. Question: does anyone have the circuit diagram for the CDI system? I wanted to compare it with the magneto system to see why it is more reliable. Thanks in advance for the info...

You can try a Google search on "CDI schematic diagram" and or "CDI circuit diagram". Lots of hits and pictures of the many different kinds of circuits companies came up with over the years.
Wikipedia has a nice article about them too http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacit...harge_ignition

FWIW, Electronic CDI systems are NOT more reliable than a magneto system. You will likely read that in the references cited.

Nothing quite as simple and reliable as a mag!

As far as CDI ignitions go .... there was a long thread in the conversions forum awhile back. The basics that all modern CDI ignitions are based on are presented there.
