im a newbie and need help
WARNING: IM A NEWBIE!!
Iknow absolutly nothing about any type of RC car.
i got a truck on a trade yesterday and i was told it was a brushless traxxas stampede. i dont know if its a truck or a monster truck and im trying to find a body for it and it seems like theres a big difference. im having problems with it either loosing power or turning itself off?? the shocks seem really soft to me and it sits alot lower than other pictures ive seen of a stampede.
i also have what i was told is a RC10GT car. it was wrecked and the chassis was bent. i looked up the car and found a new chassis and its on the way but i have no clue on how to rebuild it. i have 5 gas powered motors and 3 of them are brand new and the other 2 look like they have been ran but look to be in good condition.
is there anyone that can help me out with maybe a manual or instructions? i can take pictures of anything u need but i have 3 office boxes full of extra parts and stuff that i got for free from my firend, he was tired of looking at it.

RC10GT manuals can be found here - http://teamassociated.com/cars_and_trucks/discontinued/
You got any pics? I know GT's pretty well, there are different chassis and engine mounts that go with them if it's a black tub or blue FT/RTR, pullstart/bumpstart.

RE: im a newbie and need help
Don't need any pics but I always like to check out other peeps rides.
If you have a flat blue chassis and bought a flat chassis you should be fine as far as engine mounts go, it can get confusing if you start with a black tub and need to figure out what parts to upgrade for the flat chassis.
I forget where the extra length is on the FT VS. RTR, I have all 3 at home - FT, RTR, and black tub.
Here's the "official" GT thread - http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_79...age_111/tm.htm
I'm a nitro guy, so I got no help for the electric...
Any Q's on the GT I'll try to help any way I can, there's some other good RC10GT guys around here too.

LA parts house is a great source for GT parts (besides ebay).
http://www.losipartshouse.com/servle...0GT/Categories
Here's what your chassis should look like, if it's an RTR version it should be the same just a tad shorter, not sure what the hole is that's cut in your chassis.
http://www.losipartshouse.com/servle...e-Piece/Detail
By "flat" I mean not a black tub original version like this -
Your GT looks like a bit of a basketcase at this point, look thru the manual I posted, see what actual RC10GT parts you have, and post pics of ONLY GT parts.
I should be able to help you figure out what is needed to get it running, but it might not be worth it as a first adventure into nitro as a noob... it may also be cheaper to just buy something new that will have continued better parts availability.

oh well i got all this stuff for free, there was 5 motors and 3 of them were brand new. im not sure on the holes or anything else he just said he wrecked the damn thing when it was doing about 60mph. ill take pics of any parts that look like they go to the "blue chassis" car and we'll go from there. as for the motors...are they worth anything? i dont have the money to put into majorly on this i usually do alot of trading. i traded an HP laptop for that brushless stampede

Never heard of CMB engines, looks like they are for boats, which would explain all the long headers in that box.
http://www.prestwich.ndirect.co.uk/cmbengines.htm
Honestly the rest of the parts in those pics don't look like they would complete an RC10GT, BKoz might be able to get something out of it with the Stampede for you.
Maybe the boat engines will be worth something, or since they look to be air cooled, they could be some hot stuff in the RC10GT.
I'm not trying to pee in your Cheerios, you can get the RC10GT running, but is it going to be worth the time and effort?
I have waay too much in my GT's, but that's because I grew up with them and will never part, to start out trying to build from parts now, as a first RC, not worth it IMHO.
You get it all running and find out you need a complete rebuild in the trans, might not find parts, and it costs you a mint...
Just get a new nitro GT2 that comes with the correct engine.
$100 easy for a trans rebuild (RRP) and MIP CVD's, just to find out your wheels don't fit.
Just sayin'

RE: im a newbie and need help
This looks like the front standoffs where the front blue brace tubes mount. (Your brace tubes look bent)
I see another in this bag, with some front hub carriers.
Exhaust mount, dogbones, and throttle link possibly for the GT slide carb setup. (it originally comes with a rotary carb)
Rear bumper/battery holder mount.
This servo looks to have the setup for the carb and brakes maybe...
I'll dig thru the pics some more when I get a chance.

There's your servo saver/steering linkage.
The mounts that bolt to the chassis look a little different, but that looks like your rear susp.
Rear bulkhead and shock tower.
This looks like a noseplate from a black tub GT like I posted earlier.
Need some new nose brace tubes. (the parts I said look bent that connect to the standoffs in my above post)
Actually it looks like you have most of the parts there, maybe it's not so bad after all!

the stampede is complete...ive been running it around the parking lot for a couple of days now. i posted the pics of it without the body on it but it keeps loosing power or it turns itself off when u hit a bump hard enough
