Zenoah G26 with APC 16X8
Hi!
I have a zenoah G26 on my 100" piper super cub and was pretty surprised with the tach readings. This Zenoah packs more punch that it is given credit for. All settings were factory set and I used normal octane Gas.
APC 16X8
Idle - 2100 RPM
Full Throttle - 9300 RPM
Relates to 15.5 lbs thrust and over 3HP.
I am pleasantly surprised!!!
Cheers

LOL
No.....those are both ailerons, are up coz I needed to attach the wing struts(gives me more room to work when they are both up)
This plane does have flaps though!!!

RE: Zenoah G26 with APC 16X8
Hi, I have a 26 on a old ultra-stick. Running a 18-6 wide apc prop with a b&b muffler. A buddy tacked my engine at 81 hundred rpm. I dont know if it is more than 2.2 hp. but it will pull the stick that weighs 15 lbs. almost out of sight. The muffler made a world of differance. Wayne

Which muffler are you using.
I use the stock steel muffler w/ 2x .700 id stacks and get 9800 rpm's on the APC 16-8 and 8800-9000 on the 18-6W APC.
I also did a slight engine mod that is good for about 150 rpm's also.
Seems to be an under rated engine doesn't it.

My G-26 is stock right down to the steel muffler. It's tuned slightly rich and turns a APC 17X8 8500 on the ground in the summer heat and humidity. It does seem to unload a bit when airborne. It drags my US lite around with power to spare.
