Hey Guys,

This is almost unbelievable !
A turbine powered jet that can do a sustained nose up hover.
It is a Composite-ARF Rookie 2 with a P-160 and thrust vectoring in pitch and yaw.
Piloted by Wolfgang Kluhr.

The prop plane is my Composite-ARF 3.3 meter Yak 55 SP with a DA-150.

Wolfgang demonstrated absolute control while flying the Rookie 2 and even did a harrier circle around the Yak.
He also did a loop around it and a high speed pass UNDER it.
I think that SKS video may have got this on tape.

I would like to thank the Gergia Jets club for inviting us to fly at their MAGNIFICENT facility.
It has a 1000' long PERFECTLY level runway, a clubhouse, beautiful grass planted around the runway along with shrubery AND in the ground speakers !

Having a GREAT time here,

Barry Finck

Just wondering......With Tommy D. just out of hospital, did BV have time to finish up his new bird and bring it to Georgia?

I talked to Bob-O the other day and he mentioned they were not likely to take the new project. However, he did say it was an impressive bird

Tom,

BV unvailed the "Ultra Bandit" today at Super South. It's BIG and so clean in every detail that it looks nothing like an ARF, more like a custom finish job. It looked finished but BV said they need another 2 weeks or so to ready for the first flight. We're headed out to dinner but will try to post some pics later tonight or tomorrow.

Otherwise, great event. Perfect weather with mostly blue skys, 80 degrees and light wind down the runway with a left hand pattern!

More to follow,

Craig

There was some great flying today and I can say that the new Ultra Bandit is absolutely magnificent, very classy airframe.

Thought I would post some pictures but I must have left the data cable at the house...

Thanks Craig......

Officially out of the bag at last.......thanks for the update.........time to get on the list for one......getting a bit chilly up here.....time to settle into the workshop before long............

Can't get enough of my Kingcat, now with one of Bennie's Peggy HPAS fans on it, but really prefer a bird that looks like an airplane rather than a Miss Budweiser hydro with wings.......

Buck:

Now that I passed numero sesenta tres, I need the big stuff......80+ at the wings.....my old eagle eyes are becoming mole's eyes, worse than Blind Lemon Jefferson....after my first turn to downwind with your Pocket Rocket-powered KittyCat, it would be, "adios mi amigo y puede a Dios esta con usted"......

OK, here's the first shot of the Ultra Bandit. Don't have too many specs but it's obviously big and rumored to weigh about 40 lbs dry. The fuselage comes in two just aft of the wing. No price yet but since it will be made entirely in-house (domestically at BVM) it will undoubtly be somewhat higher than other "ARF's". Flawless construction and finish. I believe they are already taking orders. I'll try to get a few more shots tomorrow.

Lots of flying action all week. The ones of the thrust-vectored Rookie next to the big Yak are not trick shots. Wolfgang Kluhr (sp?) was hovering in a circle around the stationary Composite Arf Yak. I thought I had seen everything. The SKS guys got it on video and this one will be worth buying.

Not to be outdone, the organge/white Bandit is in knife edge about 5 feet off the deck.....who else but David Shulman.

The German's also did some impressive flying with their big Composite Arf "Lightning".

This is Frank Tiano's AV8R. Frank is also proudly posing with his very nice PST-600 powered Mig-15. Frank did some impressive flying with this very quiet bird.

Next pics are of John Burdin's 3rd place Top Gun Skymaster F-5.
