Air Hogs Aero Ace!
#2851
My channel C (Red/Black) Aero Ace has has been one of the most fun 'toys' I've ever had.
Unfortunately the charging function has stopped working. I used to have to wiggle the connector and toggle the trasnmitter on and off to get the green light to come on, but now it refuses to do so.
I have taken the transmitter apart to check the conections and they look ok.
The plane charges fine with my channel B (Green/Yellow) transmitter.
I think I may take it back to Toys R Us and try to find a replacement at KB Toys.

Have you tried fresh batteries in the Tx yet? The charging circuit is usually the first thing to get blamed and the last thing to cause the problem. Worn batteries is usually the culprit.

I might have found some replacement props for the AA.
[link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXGWM1&P=7]props[/link]
They fit the Micro Ultrix Bipe which has a link just below the props.
Also, anyone know about these other props?

Try NEW batteries in the TX first.

I also beleive in trying out new batteris first. You should still ge a charge from batteries worn down to 1v each. That said, I have burned out a couple of chargers. Not the charging circuit but the connector itself. I think it's the connector anyway. Tim

I have a couple of those orange props. I was using them for a direct drive tail system on one of my helis.
I've got a couple videos that I'll be posting. One is done. It's a short one with one of my Bipes taking off in the driveway. It may take a few minutes to show up.

Once I posted a link and all that came up was the main page.
Your link shows the same stuff that was up there when I opened the link
for novielo's actuator a days ago. Guess you gotta wait.......
oh... did you try those orange props on the stock AA motors?
Ha! After punching it up a few times I got it.
Never seen one scoot around like that- who needs wheels?

GTX, Tommyr, Ferndale,
The batteries were about a week old but I swapped them out anyways per your suggestions.
Now it works intermittently again. I need to move the plug in and out multiple times to get the green light.
I put the week old batteries in the B channel transmitter and I get green with both planes.
So, the batteries do contribute to the problem but there is definetely a connection issue with transmitter 'C'
I like the Red/Black color scheme much better tan the Green/Yellow but I think I may have to return it.
On another note: I usually keep the altitude below the roof of the house since I got stuck there the first night I flew. Today I decided to see how high this thing could actually get. I was very impressed. Critical altitude seems to be at least 200-300' (this was on a full charge).
I wish I had a camera small enough to take pictures with this thing. It's been a while since I buzzed our house in a cessna.

flyinlo, if it is a connector you could try to close it back down with a pick tool. Or you could try some connection grease. I have to admit to an excess of spare controllers. I don't bother to fix my charge bases, I just grab another tx. Tim

LOL. It's got wheels, man

No, I never tried them on an AA. They're at work right now, so I can't compare them to anything. I think they're larger than the E-chargers blades, though. I have a ton of E-chargers that I haven't even taken out of the package. They're the ones that came free with the older AA's.

Hey 13BT I can send you a free sample of the AeroSoarer since you live in perth, but there are a few conditions. 1 you can have it for one week, 2 try not to damage it, i can understand an accident but dont go ripping it apart 2 You can write a review if you like it. I will pay postage to you and you pay postage to me or we can arrange a pickup or some thing. Hope you agree.

That's kind of neat! But the music they play in the video is murder on my ears!

Them props from GWS are larger than the stock AA'a at 2.5" but smaller than
the EZ Charger props. They might work well on the N20 motors without gears.
Haven't found any use for those EZ props- might try cutting them down.
FlyinLo, I've had this problem since day one trying to get that green light to
stay on with the first plug in. Usually after several attempts it stays on. Or, run the
plane a few seconds and then try it.
I believe, since the electronics are very cheap, that the charger is getting the
command that the lipo is fully charged even though it's not. It's getting a plug
in spike and the safety shut off, which prevents it from over charging, shuts it
down. That's my guess any way.

hey sama, how much is it in case i decide to buy it? Can you also do the same for the tiny heli? I live in South Perth and sometimes fly in the park nearby the river. take the road past Bunnings and Hungry Jacks and theres a carpark right down the end. Im there sunday mornings but let me know first if youre going to be there.
