Toy, I used a visa last time I ordered from aamods just in case of a problem. I ordered 2 light kits, after a week I asked for contact. I never recieved a timeline. Anyway, Mac refunded my money. That was the entire contact with aamods this time. I have spent over $200. with them in the past. I hope they figure out what they want to do. Meanwhile, I think your best bet is to contact djstinger and see when he can sell you a light set. Tim

Ya, I hear ya.
Too bad too cause there is a ton of money to be spent on these cool planes. We used Paypal so DOn't know if we have as good a recource.

" djstinger " ??? please point us in that direction. GOt a link?

If AAMods have gone belly up, then I am surprised more guys arent *****n.....if they are overwhelmed with orders, I would understarnd that if they at least said "hey, we are overwhelmed with orders". I can cut all kinds of slack for that but to just ignor................

Toy wiz, what do you need ?

I have put a modded Tx up for sale on e-bay [ Item number: 200035003462 ] . It has the no throttle steering mod , the throttle spring has been removed , and it will control all three frequencies ( A , B , and C ) a must have for those with more than one plane/jet in the hanger.

I also have a light kit that I will post soon.

I will try to get some more lights made a.s.a.p. what the heck happened to aamods.com , that is where I got my first set of lights 6mo. ago...

Hi All,

I still plan on being around. Might not be as fast in replying though. One thing I can say is I did answer EVERY email or PM. Every order was filled in a timely manner. I even answered questions from modelers that didn't buy their parts from me. No, I'm not patting myself on the back, just the facts. 2 orders left to go out tomorrow.

The docs will still be availavle if needed. Also , I didn't realize my last purchase was as large as it was on the IRLML6401's and 1K Resistors. I had to buy HUGE quantities to be able to sell the parts for $1.00 & .25 including shipping. So, I still have some left if anyone needs them in the future. Same $5.00 minimun. 6401's $1.00ea and the 1K resistors .25 ea.

If you would like the site back up for easy future reference I can do that with only the 2 replacement parts listed so you can keep it bookmarked for ease of finding them.
Just email me and let me know your thoughts on it.

I'll still be looking in to see those great creations you guys come up with.

Tony

They should post something on their site about their status. I purchased some stuff
from them long ago when they were just starting and had no problem but if they're
getting 100 e-mails a day and have to spend 3 minutes to answer each one, that's
5 hours just answering e-mails. If they can't handle it- say so.

As for how many AA have been produced, I wonder how many? Tens of thousands?
Now you can imagine how many will end up in the garbage as throw away toys.
Think of all the spare parts being chucked? Tons!

Yeah there's money in it somewhere, I've never had the business sense myself but
I'm sure someone new will come along soon with parts or something.

Got out this boomerang wing that I always had trouble trimming in the past. This
time I added a V tail. After some ground plowing I added some elevators to it and
finally got it flying really nice. It cuts the wind good and the turns are very sharp
at about an 80 degree angle. Not much porpoising either. Instead it swoops, sorta
like a sparrow.

Hey all!

Just wanted to say I've just received my fully modded Tx from Tony/Megabyte/ARS and it's great - no spring, zero throttle steering and channels A-C; all works brilliantly. So a big Thank You to ARS, hope we keep hearing from you, DO keep the docs online if possible - I'm gonna try me a FET mod one of these days; already bought the +4.00 specs!![8D]

Just waiting for some calm weather to try it all out, then the modding can commence!

Cheers

Ayrton

Did you ever wonder if you had a cursed airframe? I have what was originally a blue c channel. I gave it to my brother for his b-day. He flew it a couple of times and popped the glue on the tail immediately, and knocked a motor of shortly thereafter. He never reglued the motor effectively. When he came to visit this summer he brought the plane and showed me what was up. I gave him one of my spares. I figured I would have a relatively new battery, at least one good motor, two props, and if he didn't fly it much a potentially good board.

I stripped the guts out of the airframe and put aa jet guts in it. It would fly quickly into the ground or wouln't turn because of to much power. Straight line it was great, but at some point you have to turn.

So I put the new motors I got from mega-byte on there. A simple, if moderately time consuming, change. Now the thing won't charge. Or something. I know I don't have the rpm for flight. It did just occur to me, I can measure voltage at the motor. 3.6v at high throttle right? Tim

It gets weirder, my dvom will measure sub millivolt, and it reads nothing on the motor circuit. The motors turn however, slowly, but they turn. A battery swap is next. But will the battery blow up?

Tony, these motors don't require the mosfets right? Tim

Oh, great. I just ordered $40 worth of stuff from aamods. Wish I would've kept current in this forum. I'll give them a couple weeks. If I don't get anything by then I'll have to make a dispute with paypal.

Sounds like you're hav'n a rough time of it!

I've been using my lipo as a nose weight taped under my smaller
foam jet and just now noticed how banged up it was getting, the foil has
peeled off. Glued some sheet foam around it but now I'm wondering if
it might leak or pop. Stupid actually...

Thats the reason I mentioned it.......hopefully to help someone else avoid a loss.
Maybe they have a legitamate problem, emergency in the family or???? I figured If I asked out loud, maybe someone else would know
and if not, others be warned.

I would really prefere that they come forward and say sorry, I have been in the antartic saving the penquins or helping the shuttle land so now I am back and I will get your orders out to you. As a matter of fact, because you had to wait, I will send you two light mods.
lol

Hey toy, I got the "your charge has been credited back to your visa" e-mail. crediting back is a moderate pain in the ass. You don't do it if the question is "tell me what is happening". I wonder if Mac has spinmaster screwing with him. Spinmaster is famously inept at customer service, and going after someone working in their market, without approval, would seem to make the twits attack. Given that Mac was a good vendor for so long, and given that he suddenly seems to have hit a bump, I think spinmaster may be messing with him. To include an injuction to keep from discussing it. Tim

BTW, the cursed mod plane still won't charge. LOL, Tim

""Hey toy, I got the "your charge has been credited back to your visa" e-mail""

This is our situation:
ORder placed with AeroAcemods.com on sept 14th.
Recieved the initial email confirmation of order.
Three weeks went by, nothing.
When you check on thier site for status of the order it says if its been more than two days, to contact them.
Emails are going unanswered.
Phone calls get you no where because you cannot leave a mesage because the mailbox is full.
At this point paypal was contacted and thier first step is to send the vender your message.

If nothing comes of it, you can place it in "dispute".

Charge back is not really an issue, since our paypal was taken from a bank account and not a charge card.

I don't really think Spinmaster has anything to do with it.

Ferndale,

The motors dont require Fets. They, as advertized, dont put out as much thrust as a stock AA. They dont draw nearly the current either. 3 of them can be put on each wing of a stock AA without problems. Just make sure to wire them in parallel, not series.

I figured some would want to make smaller planes where the stock AA were to much thrust and these motors draw abt 1/3 the current. So a nice controlable, long flying micro plane could be made with an AA Rx setup. No special mods required. The motors arent timed so they can be used as pusher or puller stlye with the AA props.

Mods update:[8D] ( health warning - none of this is new stuff)

OK! armed with my new ARS Tx, one of the few in the UK to say Air Hogs on the front and Spinmaster on the back (ours say Silverlit both sides), I set off tonight into the depths of the back field in perfect evening flying conditions, bright sun and a VERY light breeze.

1st flight - stock X-Twin bipe, Channel C, tiny button of BluTak on the nose and paper elevator giving slight up - result, excellent flight & climbing characteristics with slight, acceptable porpoising. Some tendency to spiral in if turns held too long. The no-throttle steering mod gives directional control during the steepish glide.

2nd flight - As above, wing struts removed - result, improved flying characteristics all round, little if any trim change, noticeably better climb rate and seemingly flatter glide.

3rd flight - As above, lower wings removed (plus a little bit of fuselage [:@]) - result, greatly improved flying characteristics all round, little if any trim change, big increase in climb rate, flatter glide, probable speed increase for a given throttle setting (hard to tell), no-throttle steering mod gives ability to almost maintain height with throttle off by turning during glide. Will climb on LOWEST throttle setting.

Conclusion - THE MONO MOD ROCKS!

Mine now looks like it has a fat lip. Or I could paint the flap red making it
a tongue, and then use it as an alien mask.
Actually it flys better now. Not because of any extra lift, I don't think, but
because of the extra added weight.

How's that twin pusher doing?
The new AA stalker glides nice but rolls back and forth a little. Needs a rudder.
Maybe one on the bottom or I'll curl the wing tips up.

Mega, I'm not beffing about the motors. I'm trying to set one up so that my 3 year old nephew can fly more often. And so far nothing works according to plan.

Ayrton, did you see the pics of the mono mod with stir sticks? I like that variant better that the straight mono mod. Tim
