my new red aa flies as well as, or better than, the blue one i bought a couple of weeks ago. This is the first time i wish i was a doper, then i would have a scale that could tell me if the plane is lighter. Anyway flying in 8-10 mph winds I got some impressive spins, rolls and a couple of 10 foot loops. tim

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I can honestly stand here (ok, I am sitting) and say the Aero Ace is way cool and I have flown a lot of cool stuff.

THe Micro FLyer is so so....If you compare it to the Rookie...the rookie flys away with all the points. I have a rookie plus a spare. That should tell you something.

I won't bother with another Micro Flyer. I thought the minu Lazy Bee looking foamy would be a great backyard flyer...so so...THe Intruder is better.

Now the Aero Ace takes the cake. I see why so many love it. Nice slow flight, good for indoors and back yard.
I can do circles around an umbrella with this baby.

I wish it would charge off of the wall instead of the TX.
I converted the Rookie to my Lipoly charger so that is easy and quick enough.
I don't like eating up batteries. too much $$$
Just like the Intruder charging off of a station that takes C batteries. I found a way around that too but its a pain.

The Aero Ace??? I am going to find a "spare" tomorrow. (*maybe two) This is a plane that I am going to show the guys at the shop so they can get into RC cheap and fun.

Most of these guys don't have the room in thier yard that I do so the Aero Ace will seal the deal into RC.
Thanks Air Hogs, Your a company I could work for but you couldn't afford me. lol

I've had 3 of these that fly great and 3 that didn't. One of the ones that flies great is in a tree until next Winter, I think. It's WAY up there. I've brought 2 of the ones that didn't fly great back to Target but not this last one. I do the battery mod on all of them. This last one has a Tx or Rx that just cuts out intermittently and all the ones that don't fly great can be made to fly straight by trimming with the trimming knob or the rudder and elevators. The problem with relying on trimming the rudder and elevators is that turning in one direction makes it dive fairly quick. I first set it up so it glides pretty straight, then trim the motors under power. I'm wondering if there's something else I can set, like the motor angles (left/right or up/down) that will stop it from diving. I suppose it's no big deal as long as Target has a supply and keeps taking them back, but I'd like to figure it out.
The ones that fly straight with the trimmer knob centered have the best climb performance, probably because both motors are working at their fastest speed.
Any ideas on what else can be trimmed?

the motors, you take them off from where they were put on(on the wings) and you can move them left or right moving it up or down would be a good idea but it would be kinda hard cause you would have to put somethting under the motor to put it at a certain angle.

And since you're kind enough to give us these pictures, the red lines are where I trim mine (on each half) to move the battery forward.

GTX Just center the trim knob put it on the floor and give it full throttle. if it goes left pull off left motor and angle it out a little. or angle you right in a little. when its close to going straight on the floor fine tune with trim knob in the air.

the trim knob should fix most of the turning problems.

I know this is old news, but I tried putting a ribbon on the tail to fly in heavy wind. Works great, sustained in the low teens and gusting highera and swirling. Don't try rebounds though, the ribbon can get caught in the motor.
