What’s one of the fastest RTR’s or kits that are pretty much RTR with some assembly required? I don’t want to spend over $1,400 but if I could keep it at or below $1000 it would be great. How fast? What brand? What model? Where to buy? How much?

Aeromarine builds a great RTR Donzi or their new XXX boat, for $1,400. MY Donzi was well worth the money, and does in the high 40's stock. My new XXX should be here this week, I will post the performance numbers once I get to run the boat.

It doesn’t have to be exactly an RTR. If it comes as a kit with everything included or comes with all the hardware & I have to buy an engine & radio. That’s fine.
Yeah that XxX looks pretty neat. I am also looking at the Avenger pro 44" And the Manta Ray from warehouse hobbies. I just wish I could find more out on the Zenoah engines. Are some stock & some modified? Wheres the best place to get the modified ones if so? Is the G26 a good motor or is there something better for the same price range?

I have a Donzi 49 rtr that will be for sale. I am making maden voyage today to set it up. The hull is all white, zenoah 260 power and Aeromarine hardware. The hull is an Aeromarine and not a splashed look-a-like. AM price is $1,455.00 rtr. Will sell for much less without radio.

For a Magnum 57 to hit 70mph would take an act of GOD !!!! Possibly a QD70 but then you would be rolling it. I just dont think that boat would safely run 70mph.... Counter rotating QD35's (if they fit) - possibly.
A QD35 could take it into the low - mid 50's. More power than that is more weight. More weight needs more power.
You really want a 70mph social/sport boat ????? [sm=confused.gif]
Most riggers with exotic powerplants are lucky to see 70mph.
AND Nothin RTR under $1500 would see 70mph. OR 60mph.... or 50mph

Ran the new Donzi today and it handles and runs great. I ran 3 full IV bags through it to get the engine broke in good. The engine starts easy with no problems. I tested several different props and trim tab settings and after about 12 or more launches, I got it like I wanted it to handle. No gps or tach readings, just breaking in and set-up. For sale for $900.00 without radio or receiver. I will not be making much, I just like to build them.

Frogman - I was thinking of getting the hull to hit the desired speed - not trying to suggest the most exotic powerplants.
The 140cc QD would not work in the boat any better than a 70cc QD (Not that the 70cc would work all that well). There is a point where you over power a hull. On a Vee less than 60 inches your probably looking at the 10hp mark for most RC motors on the market.
Torque roll from a prop able to use the QD70 (probably a 7516/3 or 8016/3) would certainly want to roll the hull. And if you talk to any one who has powered such a hull with a QD70 you will hear that the boat rolls (not could roll - will roll). The bigger 140cc motor would be asking for a 9515/3 or similar - just not feasible.
Question - how many boats you seen with a 140cc QD ??? I would like to bet it is NONE. Because last I heard QD had sold two of those motors and neither went to a boating application.
The QD70 run through a counter rotating box may work but it is no different to running the two QD35's counter rotating as I listed above.

What would take a Magnum 57 to 70MPH+? Is it big enough to house twins?

Where's Dom at? He just rewrote the record books 2 weeks ago with his boat.
Realistically, you won't see 70 without a good hull, a great engine and a ton of prop work. krpnova built one at a cost of about $7,500.00 for a customer that has twin 70's in it and supposedly does 70 MPH, whether or not that it does, I can't say for sure. I've only seen pictiures of it.

What did the QD 140cc engines go to? The torque is such and the prop bite is such that ifyou gave it instant acceleration from a stand still the boat would just do a 180 degress corque screw.

I believe one was chromed and is now part of a motor collectors display (Japan I heard).
The other I do not recall.
A 57" hull is a handful with a 35 in it. A 70 would push it to its limit (and a little over it).
But hey - you got the coin [sm=greedy.gif] - grab a 140 and prove me wrong. I for one usually spend the money to try hair brained ideas but when it comes to the QD140 - it just aint worth the coin !!!
I believe the twin (Counter rotating) 70's are in an 84" bonzi hull. I guess there are a few of them in existence these days. The 3 QD70's powered 56" hulls I have seen were either wrecked or sold and all were rolled [&o]

@ RonListen to Justaddwata, he knows what he is talking about. The Magnum 57 would never handle those kind of speeds and you would over power the hull, and yes, it would take an "Act Of God"
I went 73.6 in testing here with this boat and set a new record a few weekends ago at 70.8 mph up in Flint Michigan. The old record was 64.8 mph with a J&G Motor in a Seaducer.

I have a magnum 57 with a cc racing engines pro modified 26 makes 6.5 hp and the boat runs about 50 some where in that range and that is about as fast as I would want to go with this boat it is a handful now if you trim it up I dont think you can get 70 mph out of this hull but I would like to see the video of it you dont know until you try go for it

BMoneySL, I recommended the Super G to you? Thanks though, I tried CC racing engines site and it's under construction. I would like one of those engines in a Magnum 57, how much was it?
