What's the story on the zero availability of the Hitec Servo Programmer???
I am in dire need of one to setup the servos on a new airframe and can't find one anywhere... Even when I try to purchase one direct from the www.hitecrcd.com website...
When will these be available again???

They are due in early Feb. The delay is due to a new chip that is now being used since the old chip was discontinued by the manufacturer. We are very sorry for the delay; we're frustraited too.

If you click through the "Buy it Now" link on the www.hitecrcd.com website, it takes you to www.shopatron.com, which I assume is the retail aggregrator for hitec... I had to pay a little more than retail, but I got it...
After I had already committed to the purchase from shopatron, I found them in stock online at Balsa Products in New Jersey...

Google is a wonderful thing...

Update:
After placing my order through Hitecs online aggregator, www.shopatron.com, creating an account, having to fax them a credit authorization, confirming via telephone that the order was being filled, having my credit card charged for the order, paying 20% over retail price, I am now informed that the item is on backorder...
What a bunch of crap...
Someone needs to get their ***** together...
I ordered one from Balsa Products, URL listed above, paid retail price, no shipping charges and it will be here in 4 days...

FYI: Shopatron is not Hitec... it is a network of hobby dealers that have an opportunity to fill an order that comes through from our website (and many other manufacturers.) If one of the dealers has it in stock then they can fill it... I think it is a bad practice to take all the info and not to inform you first that the item would be backordered.

Mike:
Sorry for the rant, but I was a little PO'd when I posted that...
I realize that Shopatron is not Hitec, but in the context of the conversation, they represent Hitec... So their shortcomings reflect on Hitec...
You're right, it's ludicrous to make a customer jump through all those hoops, then tell you the item is backordered... Especially AFTER they bill you...
Perhaps you should mention this to the marketting department at Hitec...

I guess in that context, everyone that sells Hitec represents us. Unfortunatley only a small percentage are our actual customers and buy directly from us; most purchase through our distributor network.

I guess I could have been more clear...
Shopatron is linked directly to the www.hitecrcd.com website... When you click on the "Buy It Now" link for the programmer on the Hitec website, it takes you to the shopatron website... The impression is that it is part of Hitec...
Nuff said... I found one in stock somewhere else and have it on order...
Thanks for the reply...
