Define super fast.

You will need in excess of $500 CDN/US in most cases to push 40mph. Or at least $300 US for 30mph. A 30-40mph boat is nothing to laugh at but I would not necessarily call it fast.

Other than that I would look into boats similar to the Traxxas line up. Or go for the new SuperVee BL @ $280 US** for 30+mph.

ryan is right, you will not find a boat for less than $200, that is "super fast"

60 km/h ?! ... not MPH (i guess)
is the jet stream 1000 faster with a .21 engine than the orginal 32 size?

All the .32 engines I know of produce near equal power at much lower RPM's. In most cases a .32 can be replaced with a modern .21 size engine. There is also a huge selection/choice.

Yeah, 60 MPH is a little unbelievable especially for a Kyosho boat. My Speedmaster 21 with a Rossi is lucky to hit 50 on a good day and this is a full-tilt race boat.

If I could get what's considered a fast electric boat for that price, I'd sell my fuel burners.
You can get some decent boats for that price to start off with then as time goes on, upgrade it but you need to start out with the right boat.

i am looking for something around 20-30 mph and was thinking of something like a Climate Models - Matrix Outrigger but i also like the look of the Aqua Jet 775 Electric Motor Version 20-27mph as there is a 35 mph speed limit on the lake that i use both of these are super fast to me as i'm used to boats like the kyosho blade runner and blue streak ep

Climate is a great choice to go with. The Matrix Outrigger will probably total around $350+/- U.S. depending on what gear you throw in to it. What will that convert to?

$350 usd = about £189.939 GBP witch at a push i can afford but this looks like it's just a racing boat where i want a boat that i can use for racing and for fun witch is why i thought of the Aqua Jet 775 Electric Motor Version 20-27mph

I believe the Matrix Rigger would be pushing 33mph on a simple (700motor with 16cells) setup. Speed is there, but only for glass like water conditions. It seems as if you are concerned about going over the 35mph speed limit.

My nitro ST does almost 80km/h in a 50km/h zone. No one says anything.

I would avoid getting a 'rigger for right now as they're a little more difficult and complex than they look.
Usually the 35 MPH speed limit applies only to full-sized boats. They'd have trouble trying to hit an R/C boat with their radar guns.

Hi...since you're in the UK, i'd check with Astec models for a nice hull. If i remember well they also sell Feigao brushless motors. I've bought a micro-cat hull from them recently, and although it's fragile, and requires some good planning before you actually start gluing stuff together, it's super super light. i kitted it out with a walkera 380m brushless and a graupner 40A genius controller. radio gear was also from graupner and then i installed an offset rudder i bought on ebay. All this stuff is available from ebay...BUT i still have no idea what speed this thing does. The fact that it's so small might make it seem like it's going faster than it actually is, but with 12 cells only the prop and rudder stay in the water.

So a rough guesstimate of the costs:

Micro-cat hull 17GBP
rudder combo 13GBP
Walkera 380M 25GBP (postage included)
graupner 38mm prop 3 GBP
Graupner RC C4 sonic - 38 GBP
Shaft, stuffing tube and coupling (graupner) - 7GBP
Graupner Genius 40A Brushless ESC - 70GBP

So all in all i got a pretty decent kit for a total of 173GBP....but you still need to add cells to that.....but that dependes on the run-times you want and how much you want to spend. with this kit you can go from 7.2 to 14.4v....but a lot also depends on what kind of cells you buy - lipo would be the way to go for minimum weight and maximum power....

My old jetstream 1000 with the OS 32 was lucky if it did 30MPH. I think that radar gun may need some calibration. If you dumped some serious money into that boat I dont think it would do 60MPH!!! thats a bit far fetched.
