Hey guys. I got my Marui Tiger in Saturday morning at the post office (a good way to greet a Saturday morning), and I am quite pleased. For it's size, the tanks seems really heavy. The factory weathering is great -- subtle, and not overdone (like I do on my others). The paint is awesome, and the tank commander looks really cool. I haven't driven it outside yet (I'm still deciding if this one is going to be driven outside or not--may have to get another for that), but inside, this tank is a powerhouse. Besides the power, the suspension is MUCH better than the HL Tiger (softer, and looks more realistic under power). The road wheels actually have rubber tires, and the whole gun barrel is aluminum! The ball turret machine gun is actually moveable as well. And like the Marui Abrams I bought from Shen -- it shoots EXTREMELY hard -- enough to hurt someone. I think I'm going to officially give up 1/16th scale tanks. The Marui and VS tanks are so cool -- plus there's the collector's side to it. Once you get one, you want to get every different version made. I can't stress enough the build quality of these tanks -- they're are like precision built models. There are only a couple of downsides to the tanks. First, the factory finish is so good, you may not want to weather or repaint them. Secondly, the radio range is not as great as its bigger brothers. Outside is pretty good, of course, you are probably not going to drive a 1/24th scale tank a mile away from you either.

Hi Titan,The only 1/24th tank I have is the HL leopard which although is a bit 'toyish' in appearance, has performed brilliantly..........I have a 1/25th academy panther which I will convert to HL control, but I have to say, the 1/16th HL do 'scrub up well' with a bit of work and their size menas that you can install extra functions......I am currently pantherising my Pantiger and adding stuff......don't give up on the 1/16th yet bro..........

I didn't know the front hatch opens too! Man, I really like this tank. Truly, the "Tamiya" of the 1/24th scale world -- except ready to run and painted!

I'll get some pics on this "worthless" thread when I get a chance. I think I have proven that I can post pictures.

No, I didn't
Sorry if it sounded that way. I will try to take some photos. You just about have to see these in person to appreciate the subtle weathering -- it looks fantastic.

Truthfully, it's now all about quality for me, as I still like the HL tanks very much -- and I'm sure I would like a Tamiya tank, too. Actually, I have found that I just enjoy the scale of the 1/24th and their capabilities. For Bhop, here you go -- I snapped a few pictures (I even included a picture of my VS Leo for good measure). Now, if I get fired -- it's your fault (even though its hard to get fired from your own business
).

No shen, it's a Corvette model I build many, many years ago (road race care, maybe at Sebring? Hell, I don't even remember now). It was a real good quality model kit, but I can't remember the brand. I want to say Tamiya, but that can't be right (but another top quality static model brand).

I like your new Tiger. [sm=thumbup.gif] I debated about buying one of them through Ebay, but I had the Leo and still have an Abrams and I just can't get past the transmitter........why oh why did they use push buttons, rather than sticks?! [

Do you know if the gear boxes are the same or similar to the other Marui tanks? That is to say, does it click when under stress, as the slipper clutch is engaged?
Good luck with your new tank!

Yeah, it seems to make the same noise, but the motor noise and the plastic track noise drown it out. The Tiger seems to have loads of power.

Hi Jason what you here is not a slipper clutch for when stress is on the gearbox...what it is is a slipper clutch that keeps tensin between both drive motors in the gear box so the tank will track straight even if one motor is slower.... they use this because there is no trim to straighten out the tank because they are not fully proportional....If you get the sound tanks from VS you don't notice it.
Titan20 the hum of the marui tigers gear boxes make it sound like it has a motor in it don't it.

Great post, man. You're making us want to stray into 1/24th scale tanking as well.
Tanks does look good right out of the box even if the tank commander's face makes him look like a Crash Test Dummy. He needs some shading. Aside from that, his uniform looks great.

Hi Guys, [8D] titan that looks great! So much so that I also am tempted by 1:24! Marui and VS Tanks seem to be the Alfa dogs in the pack! I have just learned the difference between them and HL 1:24 and am most impressed! I had no idea! The VS site has a comparison between the 3 makes which is most interesting, I think Icecreamslick (Hi) put the link up but am not quite sure. I saw the VS clips on there and I love the detailing and the infrared system which flashes damage and the recoil effect is the mutz nutz! Hope you enjoy your 1:24 Tanking mate!
PS Plan B toys and Tamiya Hummers have got me glued to 1:12 but I might add some 1:24 as I am so gobsmacked my lips have swollen!!
