Hi
i just wonderd what kind off mounts you use for this engine!
I had an ZN line Twister with an OS 140 rx that i had 230 flights on with a self made O.Fremming type Hyde mount and Central Hobbies nose ring, this mount to reduce weigth when i mounted my new YS i used a Bud Mount with Central nose ring , this made the CG at almost same spot that is was with the OS .
I really enjoyed the 3 flights i got with this combo before i got some kind off failure most likely in the reciver or xtal , not really sure yet but what i think is that this is somethingthat maybe had happen in some time anyway maybe it had needed some more fligths with the less vibrating OS.
I'm starting to collect some more epquiment to a new plane and are going to get my Ys repaird or get a new one so is there any negativ thoughts to use a Bud Mount or to i need to used a Hyde ...its almost 3 times price , i have been recomended to use the front mount from the YS 160 DZ-M if i get a Hyde i think its the ARA that will be the one .
Any thoughts guys
If you take a look at the pics you can see how a Twister looks after hitting frozen ground in ca 200 km\h, it was no problem to get it into the car that day ......

Rune, Rune, Rune...what have you done?
You're taking this to seriously brother... you should be skiing, drinking, chasing girls (preferably all 3) instead of flying.
There's plenty of time to practice during the 2 week summer flying season!
Just turn up at a comp' and fly... or in my case... don't even bother turning up!
Lifes to short.
I prefer Buds to come in six packs if that answers the mount question.

Ahrggg Rune you have given me ticks. It is the most horrible picture I've seen yet on this forum !
Did you use lipo and a regulator for radio gear ? Below 5 centigrade is not good for lipo, and combined with digital servos it could be very bad
Two Genesis in DK, fly with the "ZN-line type sort of Hyde copy mount" and a 160DZ. and that is worth every penny. Very low noise and good damping. I'll be installing my 160 DZ WITH the new Hydemount in my Integral

Rune,
Sorry about the model.
I am a genuine Hyde mount convert. I have used copies as well as the YS mount. YS mount is good but be prepared to replace every 200-300 flights. Hyde gives a 3000 flight warranty if installed correctly. I am using the 140ARA with my DZ160 on my current model with no problem. I have just ordered the 160ARA for my new model. At just under 3 ounces thay are very light.

i got a phone from a good freind he's going over to the states and he bringing a Hyde ARA back for me so thats ending the thinking , but i think i go for the YS m mount in the front as a nose ring.
No i did not use Lipo's , hads Nimh 5 cells 2300 Mah and it was around zero the day it happend 3 fligth just out off the fig9 where all looked and off course at full throtel.

Hi Eggart
you mentioned that you have a few friends flying YS1.6`s with the ZN line mount
how do they like it? ,,What do" you" think about the mount ?
I have one and I am considering trying it.
But the firewall distance is so different from a Hyde set up I hate to commit to it Because,, I would have to remove the firewall to
replace it with a Hyde Mount , it it turns out to be a bad move, Hyde Mounts are all Ive ever used.
However,,
I like the wieght of the ZN line mount 2.6 ounces WOW!!
any one else have good ,or bad luck with this mount ?

The ZN line mount is very nice because of the allready stated things. Personally, I am not too fond of the plastic beams, and that goes for most of the Hyde type mounts too, because I allways end up doing service on my engines two to three times a year and the threads are very fragile when you use locktite for security on bolts. For this reason I have changed to the Hyde type Firm Idle, with the aluminum beams, but then I am disappointed that theres no rubber between the disks for damping the "beating" in the axial direction !
The nicest mount for a YS is still the YS mount, but the fittings for the damper must be changed so the damper can not fall of the knob !
Ahh, will I ever be satisfied ?

Eggert,
There are basically 4 types of hyde mounts available.
1) Firm idle - budget concience
2)ARAI type with the integrated nose ring
3)AR Hyde with plastic beams
4)ARA Hyde with aluminium beams
The version you are after is (4) 140/160 ARA. This mount is the pick and is very light. The beams only extend to the rear engine mount holes.
It is worth the extra money IMHO

While we're on the subject of motor mounts, can anyone tell me how the hell a MK mount bolts together? I'ts got me beat as to how you stop eveything from being too tight or too sloppy!

Hi Rune
I use ZN mount.
A lot of flights with it on a Cocaine and now on a Partner with YS 160 DZ.
I had a Hyde mount but I prefer ZN mount because it is more smooth and nois is more light.
