Some new pictures, and an update

I took some pictures with the truck in the sun, hoping it would inspire me to do some more work on this thing. After all of the machine work on the steering last fall, I really became burned out. Since then, I have only worked on the cooling system and started working out details of the steering controller. Not much, I know, but it's beginning to become difficult to envision this truck complete. It started out as a large-scale monster truck, and then I decided to try and make it crawl, but now I'd be happy to see it move on it's own before too long.
Some specs, as of now:
Wheelbase 20.5"
Overall length 27"
Body length 29"
Width at tires 16"
Axle width 12"
Weight 21.4 lbs. with body
Dual-rail frame
6 frame supports
4 cantilevers
24 bronze bushings
135 machined parts (so far,
)
245 threaded holes
About $1770
Several hundred hours in the shop
Still no engine, drive shafts, radio gear, reverse motor, or batteries. The steering motor and controllers are not installed yet, nor is the gearing for the actuator. The transmission is still sitting there between the frame rails and awaiting some sort of replacement gearbox. I'm pretty much unhappy with the size of the tires since the chassis has become so much larger than originally planned, so I might end up with some Moab XLs or Jumbo Kongs. At this point, I don't think it will crawl very well anyway, so the tires may be chosen solely on their looks.

Jeez, thanks for the nice comments!
I'm hoping to cram a Saito 100 twin between the frame rails. It will sit pretty high and raise the CG quite a bit, so that idea is not set in stone yet. Also, in order to liquid-cool the twin, I would have to machine the cylinders down to add cooling jackets. The design of the Saito is such that it would be tricky, and the jacket would have to be kind of thin. I may be able to make it work, though. That's an expensive engine to hack into.

My ultimate goal for my truck is to fit a jet engine in it. I have thought about it for my mountain bike a while back already...but it's not legal here.

I wanted to put a Pahl turbine and heli gearbox into this truck, in the beginning. It is very cost-prohibitive, though.
Besides, I would probably blow up the thing

Simply beautiful artwork and dedication [sm=thumbup.gif] How about putting in a 50cc 2 stroke - you've got the space for the engine and a nice tuned pipe!
