its the wankel rotary engine OS engine make, pretty dam cool engine, i think there designed for aircraft, but fitting it up to a onraoder is awesome, i dont think they rev really hard, but u can solve that with some higher gearing, plus the sound out of that engine would be awesome

hehe ive seen this before..pretty cool
how about this, same engine (OS .49PI plane rotary engine) on a 1/10 Mugen MTX-3:

they needed a spare micro servo for the throttle, look at big the gears are
too bad they discontinued the OS rotarys [&:]

G, I remember seeing that car a few years ago and I was just as amazed then as I still am now. If I can build a car like that, even if its not going go move at all and just be a shelf queen, I would. Just for the whole woooooow factor. I did a little research on that car back then and found that the owner was running a 37 tooth spur for second and at that time that was the smallest spur available. If you look at MiamiJatos new car and my car, its the same gear on there. Ofcourse now, Revo has smaller spurs but this was about 3 years ago.

I'm out of budget right now...but if you built something like that I would like to see it! I am a big wankel fan you know...and as i know they work at VERY high rpm...that means you might even make a new speed record with the right gearing...i dont think that would be a problem for you

They have discontinued making this engine about 3 months ago, ive researched it for a while. Its a single rotor equivallent to a 12A mazda rotor. This engine produces godzilla power for its weight and size, the power to weight ratio is just insane. Its got the whole she-bang as a real rotor (eccentric shafts, apex seals, etc.).
Its real hard retro-fitting it existing cars, lots of of custom mods need to be done.

1.7hp and max of 18,000 rpm, rotary engines have alot of power per pound, but their fuel economy isnt as great (thats why more arent used in cars)

who knows. Buts its kind of like a vintage RC. U know dam well that cars now are going to be faster, lighter and more ad..adjile (sp?) but its still cool to drive old cars from back in the day. So just like this car, it miight not be the fastest (maybe the car is faster then we think) but im sure it still a BLAST to drive around. Could the liquid cooling add more power? I say it gets a 100% cool factor

Definately the best cooling ever seen. Now i see long gearing that means low rpm. But i dont know how much torgue it produces.

I use to have an rx-7 i took the engine out and ported it. That looks to be a single rotor engine the cars have two rotors. Looks cool though and i thought i was the first one to think of this. They use the regular 13b engine in light weight aircraft. Well a few changes but nothing major. The engines won't stall upside down also if you blow an apex seal in your engine you've only ruined half your motor and can continue flying ro driving. Again with new inventions they came out with ceramic seals that dont chew up your rotor housing which is chormed inside so the seals run smooth. They also have alloy seals that are 700x more flexiable and 700x stronger than stock seals. Oh if i had a million dollars.
O.K.
