Default Saito 30, what's a good airframe?

Any suggestions to give this little Saito a good home?

They're great for small Cubs, such as the one from World Models.

I've got a new Saito .30 waiting to be installed in a Super Sportster EP when I actually get around to assembling her.

Ok, I've got one too and wondering about a kit for it. What about a Sig Wonder and a .30?

I have a Magnum .30 that I put on a Global T6, haven't flown it yet. I don't think the Saito .30 weighs much less so I think it is too heavy for a Sig Wonder. It has about the power of a .20 two stroke, say maybe a plain bearing run of the mill .20. As such it may be a bit small for a Talercraft .25, Sig LT .25, Ultra Stick .25, and the Tequla Sunrise. Maybe with a lot of nitro? It will fly them but not as well as a plain vanilla two stroke .25

I have one on a GP Taylorcraft, flies it just fine. Also look at the GeeBee Tigermoth. It would be a bad match with a sig wonder. A light .20 is a good engine for that airframe.

Hello; Goldberg Freedom, Sig senorita, GP Speortster 20, Biplanes, I have my Saito 30 in a Pixie Bipe. I have a 26 sized Utimate and a 25 sized Extra that would work well. Another possibility id a 25 sized Decathlon. I guess it depends on what kind of flying you want to do. I'm very happy with the Pixie bipe, but I know that some guys at our field would find it too slow for them.

There really not that good of an engine, I could do you a favor and take it off your hands so you wouldn't be troubled by it. But if you dead set to try it anything that takes a .25 two stroke will fly well with it.

From what I understand the Saito .30 is the same or slightly more powerfull than a Magnum .30. If so its not near the power of a .25 two stroke. Closer to a .20 two stroke. So it will work on those models only if you enjoy flying them with somewhat less power.

As I recall the Magnum would turn a MA 10 x 5 about that speed, so I suspect they are about the same power.

I just recalled that Polk Hobbies has a Fokker DR-1 that should be just right for this engine.

You are absolutely right. In fact, an old OS .20FP two-stroke with kick its butt, and all of the other .30 four-strokes, pretty bad. Yet, they have their appeal.

Any of the planes made for a two-stroke .15 by CMP as sold by AK Models and Nitro Models. CAP/Extra anyone?

I bought the little .15 two-stroke designed Extra from AK Models a while back. That is one neat looking little model. Now to break out the Futaba FAAST 2.4 GHz and get the installation going. I'm tempted to fly it with a two-stroke .15 first and then later switch to one of my OS FS-30 four-strokes - assuming it lasts that long. If it doesn't, they sell more.
